Hey Lisa... We are considering moving to The Haven Spa... I didn't know if you have ever stayed in The Haven. Or know someone that has. My biggest concern is if we can invite other people to our room or to hang out.

lisa331   Oct 18, 2016 - 12:15 pm

It was gross. I only went on carnival because I "won" the cruise. But still cost me 1500. Lol. It stunk.

lisa331   Oct 18, 2016 - 12:14 pm

Yes I understand d what you are saying. I was on a cruise to Alaska with my mom years ago on silver seas. High end cruise line right. I was the youngest at 45. Everyone was sleeping by 10. I like a happy medium some kids and some older people. I was in carnival last year and it wa horrible. The parents didn't care and let their kids run all over and touching the food that was at the buffet. I

Lisa, I completely agree that age is a mindset, not necessarily a number. I was just saying that our last cruise seemed "old" because of the number of walkers and wheelchairs. I work in a hospital and I saw more on the cruise ship than in an average day at work!

I'm so ready for it to be March!

lisa331   Oct 18, 2016 - 6:09 am

Now I changed our aft to a different floor. Even though we were on 12 i was told you can hear the music from the club on 15. Then I switch to 9 and heard you can hear the club underneath. Is there any quiet cabin in aft? Lol.

lisa331   Oct 18, 2016 - 6:03 am

So maybe there will be a bunch of 18-24 year olds. So Don't know till you are on the ship trying to get a chair. Lol

lisa331   Oct 18, 2016 - 6:02 am

Hey. I'm over 55 and I'm not geriatric
I have more fun left in me then some people 20 years younger. Remember age is just a number not a mind set. If you want to be around kids go on a Carnival cruise, cheaper,Tons of kids on those. As for NCL all depends on timing. I've been on some where there are kids all over and then another cruise were there was 50 heard this maybe spring college

mikeg8183   Oct 17, 2016 - 8:51 am

Our previous cruises have been in October and November, completely away from school breaks, and although we had fun on the cruises, they were a bit "geriatric" due to the average age being 55+. We were on RC Navigator OTS last Nov and there were 15 kids under 18 on the cruise. It just seemed like an "old" cruise and didn't enjoy that as well as a cruise with more kids.

Any tips or hints about NCL would be great as we've never been on an NCL cruise.

I'm looking forward to meeting new people on this cruise! My wife is a bit introverted, so hopefully with more people being "our age" she can come out of her shell a ittle bit.

lisa331   Oct 17, 2016 - 6:46 am

I totally agree with you. Some fun but not crazy young adults screaming and drinking then turns to fighting. Seen that too on ships. I don't know what's worse college breakers or kids running around unsupervised while their parents hang out around the pool drinking and ignoring them

vivianswallows   Oct 16, 2016 - 9:09 pm

Continued... I do want to have fun and meet a few new "friends in low places".... 🚺🚺🚹 I can do without the hooting 🎉 and such but a little adult fun would be nice. 🚻 🚺 🚹

vivianswallows   Oct 16, 2016 - 9:01 pm

I was on a Royal Caribbean ship in March a few years ago...Smack butt in the middle of spring breaks and it was not a college party ship but rather full of children. I have also been on a Carnival cruise in mid March... Lots of spring breakers and a "ship load" of 30 something hard partying people. This will be my first time on an NCL ship. So, we shall see.

lisa331   Oct 16, 2016 - 8:40 pm

Hope they do book on carnival. Plus carnival is less expensive then NCL.

vivianswallows   Oct 14, 2016 - 9:02 pm

I would think that a lot of them would cruise Carnival. More party atmosphere.

mikegieb1983   Oct 10, 2016 - 9:53 pm

Timing of College Spring Break for a large number of schools.

mikeg8183   Oct 10, 2016 - 12:25 pm

My wife and I just booked on Deck 13. We've never been on NCL before, Royal Caribbean 2x and she has been on Carnival. Looking forward to seeing the differences between the cruise lines.

Started to think about this cruise and the possibility of it being a "college party cruise" and hoping that isn't the case, but would be entertaining. We are both 33, and although not "old", we can't keep up with the college kids.

mikeg8183 checked in to this roll call and is traveling with 1 other guest.

lisa331   Sep 29, 2016 - 6:50 am

We are on 12. No one has any video up anywhere for this cabin. I saw three still photos but weren't that clear to size. Just wondering is it really worth paying 200-300 pp more? The cabins are all basically the same aft, except of course for the suites there, it's just the size of the balcony that if ld like to see. Maybe someine will post in the next couple of months before I have to pay the bal

vivianswallows   Sep 27, 2016 - 9:24 am

Here is one that was posted for
deck 9

vivianswallows   Sep 27, 2016 - 9:18 am

We are on deck 11. The way that I seen ours was to go to YouTube and put Norwegian getaway and our room number and surprisingly a lot of people post tours of the specific room including balcony. What deck are you on and maybe I can send you a link.

lisa331   Sep 27, 2016 - 4:24 am

What deck are you on? I'm trying to figure out how big the balcony is but no one really posted pics of the one we will be in. I looked at the pic of the boat to try to figure out and doesn't look that big. But suppose to be two chairs two loungers and a table on it. Looks like that could be tight

vivianswallows   Sep 26, 2016 - 6:31 pm

How come hardly anyone has pictures on here?

vivianswallows   Sep 26, 2016 - 6:30 pm

Nope... But we are in aft balcony too. It really looked interesting. I hear the balcony is larger and a tad more private. I am really looking forward to a change from the standard balcony. Maybe we'll see you there.

lisa331   Sep 25, 2016 - 2:15 pm

I just switched our cabin to an aft balcony. Never in one before and think it's about time for a change. Has anyone ever stayed in one before

lisa331   Sep 24, 2016 - 8:21 pm

Lol. That's funny you will have a blast.

vivianswallows   Sep 24, 2016 - 5:45 pm

So now... It might be time to swing from the chandeliers😜

vivianswallows   Sep 24, 2016 - 5:44 pm

We are looking forward to trying something new. We have been on Carnival 2 times and Royal Caribbean 5 times. The big difference with this trip is that we are traveling without kids, aunts, uncles, friends, and the like. So I can finally let my hair down without worrying about who in the family that I might offend (I do like my wine and margaritas).

lisa331   Sep 24, 2016 - 5:21 pm

Thank you. That's funny Maybe they don't know how to, sometimes that happens. Maybe waiting to get involved in conversation closer to cruise date. I've been on NCL many times This will though be my first time on the Getaway. Very excited. Do you have any questions that I could try to answer for you about NCL? I've been on RC, Celebrity,Carnival and Silver Seas.

vivianswallows   Sep 23, 2016 - 6:40 pm

It's crazy... I posted here and no one responded. They must be a shy group. I didn't want you to feel like you were left high and dry so I thought I would respond...
Hi. I have never sailed NCL before. Mostly Royal Caribbean. I'm looking for a change of pace and maybe a little more party. See ya in a few months.

lisa331   Sep 23, 2016 - 4:58 am

Hi everyone. Just booked this cruise and are wondering if anyone has sailed on this ship before.
