It was around $10.00 a person for the week. I'm not positive but I know it was very reasonable. I sailed last year on the breakaway. Unfortunately it only worked for 2 days but Norwegian did reimburse everyone which was great.

I would like to hear others opinions on tipping. I cruised last year in the breakaway and tipped as follows. I tipped at only the specialty restaurants. I also tipped my cabin steward at the beginning and end of the cruise. I was unsure of an appropriate amount for the steward. I gave him $25 on the first day and $50 on the last. Does that seem about right?? There were 3 guests in our cabin.

A passport is not required. I sailed on the breakaway last July and most of the people in my party had birth certificates

Per the NCL website, a birth certificate and photo ID is sufficient. (No photo ID needed under 16 yo.)

For Cruises Leaving From a U.S. Port to the Caribbean, Bahamas & Florida, Bermuda, Alaska, Mexican Riviera, Canada & New England, Pacific Coastal

You’re required to carry:

A Valid Passport

OR

Proof of Citizenship (see below) AND Government-issued photo ID

State certified U.S. birth certificate
(Baptismal paper, hospital certificates of birth, and Puerto Rico birth certificates issued prior to 7/1/10 are not acceptable.)
Original certificate of U.S. naturalization
Original certificate of U.S. citizenship
U.S. Consular report of your birth abroad

Crap. I was told a birth certificate is fine due to it being a closed loop cruise starting and ending in the same port in the US.

Anyone know of a good car service that will pick up and drop off at the pier/home??

To answer your question, Yes you do need a US passport when sailing to Bermuda. It is required for reentry back to the US in NYC. You only need a photo ID to get back onto the ship in Bermuda.

Des anybody know if a passport is required for cruising to Bermuda? or will a valid US driver's license suffice?

I believe you only need a photo ID to get back on the ship. The passport is needed for the reentry into the US once you disembark.

I take a copy of the first page and another photo ID, not the actual passport itself.

Do you need to take your passport off of the ship for excursions? We are planning to go snorkeling, jet skiing and beach. If so does anyone have suggestions about a completely waterproof case that will fit it?
