Good information. We arrive a day before and therefore can't use the R.C. shuttle since it only operates the day of cruise. We'll see ya on the ship

We are using the Royal Caribbean shuttle as we have never been there and feel better knowing the Royal shuttle will get us to the ship in time and can carry all of us plus our luggage. I know people also use private shuttle services, but we had a hard time finding one that could carry all our luggage as well as us. We found the cost was close to the same either way.

My husband and I did my time dining on our last cruise. We called every day to make a reservation. We usually ate at 630 or 7. If you especially like a waiter you can ask to be seated in their section. We always sat at a 2 top table alone. It was nice to decide from day to day, usually based around what we were planning to do that day. You can walk in and wait if you forget to reserve.

What suggestions are there that people are using for transportation from Hobby to Galveston area?

Woohoo 59 days. This is my first cruise and absolutely can't wait.

60 days! Woo hoo!

Glad it works. Didn't want to cause a debate but so many groups I am in, everyone is right and I see answers that are opposite each other. Some questions are safer to trust the source. As I did ask before and got different answers. I like the passport just easier if anything were to happen. :-)

This will be my second time in 6 months on the liberty w/o a passport. Just don't get left in port by the ship....

astmj   Nov 05, 2016 - 10:56 am

I would call and confirm. You wouldn't want to get there and not be allowed. This one is just too risky.

As long as you are a US resident with a state ID (drivers license) and a certificate of naturalization (birth certificate) you can travel from and back to the same US port without a passport. I would strongly recommend having one of course for the "just in case" scenarios, but also it makes the boarding and disembarkation process go a lot easier.

I know this has been asked before but, I can't remember the answer. Is a Passport required for going on a cruise if you're only staying within the cruise loop?

If you go right to the MDR when you board you can pick your times for the week. You then don't have to wait in line. If you pick the same time you may even get the same server and table (we did). If you have your reservations done you can skip the long long if those trying to make a reset each night.

This will be our first time on Libery but have been on Freedom and room service eggs are not that good by the time you get them. We like going to the Windjammer and getting omelettes made to order or their crepes. We only used room service for the days with early excursions and had to be off the ship in time.

We had it one night and did not like it, we requested set dining and as there was room we got it. My time is very busy the first night with people trying to change to set dining so if you want set dining I suggest contacting Royal and getting wait listed. You can suggest the size of table you want as well, whether you want to sit with your family or with others as well.

I was wondering if anyone had any experience with my time dining? How does it work? Do I have to call every day to make a reservation? How far in advance? And will I be able to sit by myself with a party of 2 or will I have to sit with other groups? Thanks in advance!

I did not care for the room service eggs. We would get double orders of pastry and fruit and sides of sausage or bacon for the protein. I also waited for the omelettes at the omelette station in the windjammer. I enjoyed the main dining room on sea days. Was fun to meet new people and gear their stories.

How is the room service food, esp. Breakfast on Liberty of the Seas
I hear the windjammer eggs aren't very good
