Any Buckeye fans cruising on this trip? Are there sports bars onboard to watch Natl Championship game?

Just a heads up to everyone with something that happened with my "dining package". I purchased (for 2) my three night dining package for $70 per person on August 13, 2016. This month, November 2016, after reviewing my VISA account, I noticed two separate credits on my account. Each was for $70 for a total refund of my original purchase. I didn't have the reservations that I thought I had.

I called RCCL today and they told me they had a "massive" (that is the word the RCCL rep said) cancellation of reservations. She told me she would be happy to renew and replace my original reservation but I would need to give her a credit card for the purchase. I gave her the number and magically, the NEW PRICE had been increased to $75 per person for a total of $150. I didn't mind the difference, but I feel they should have honored the original price we paid. I kept the original email with the confirmation but that appeared to make no difference. As soon as they run the new CC, I received a new confirmation email.

Check your reservation today and make sure you have not also been cancelled. This is something you might not notice until arrival at the ship.

Take a cab, usually no wait and much cheaper.

You can always ask the rental place to call you a cab, otherwise just go back to the airport and take a cab from there.

It's likely cheaper for a cab, there are plenty of them outside of the airport.

Another quick question. We rented a car from the Fort Lauderdale airport and are returning it back to the airport. Are there cabs are the airport rental car center to take us to the port

Does anyone know if it's cheaper to book the airport transfer through the cruise line or just take a cab to FLL 5 people

US Dollar accepted universally in all the islands. I had a stash of 5000+ pesos from previous trips to Puerto Vallarta. They didn't even want them in Cozumel.

emmakrivak   May 10, 2016 - 10:20 am

Any ideas for excursions? I've never been on a cruise before!

Contributor Level: Deck Hand

  May 08, 2016 - 5:36 pm

Yes they do....but you might have to special order ahead of time so they can have your size available on your sail date.

I don't think they call it that any longer...LGBT is the current moniker.

Contributor Level: Deck Hand

I must be getting a little jaded at this time in my life, but I haven't viewed a single excursion that looks exciting. After a few cruises, they all look the same and offer no real travel dollar value. Maybe, at the LAST minute, I might choose something but we find exploring, dining and walking to be more fulfilling.

I never broke even on a soda package. Can't imagine spending 400-500 bucks on a liquor package! But then again....I am a cheap old fart...vbg!

I have been to Cozumel many times over the past 12 years. I really have found it convenient, pleasant and uplifting. Nearby attractions, restaurants and the obligatory "duty free" shopping. I guess we missed the "not very nice area".

Exchange rate is about 10 peso to a US dollar...making them about 10 cents. I tried once to pay with pesos and vendors didn't want them since the exchange rate was not in their favor. Use your US cash...everyone takes it. Also, using your credit card you will get the best exchange rate with your credit card center when they process the transaction.
