We did one there last year. Just got it in the port after we got off the ship. It was a tour of the island by van with 2 other couples. I think it cost us 60 bucks?

Is there a tour of St. Kitt's that I can book that only does land sites? I'm not interested in the beach for this island. The cheaper the better.

Yes. I've been on this ship twice (this cruise will be the 3rd) and I believe it is deck 4. However, depending on time of day, it could be blocked for cleaning.

Does anyone know if there is an outside deck that we can walk around the entire ship? We like doing this rather than the track.

rick7932
Contributor Level: Deck Hand

rick7932   Dec 03, 2016 - 7:58 pm

Our excursion for St.Maartin has been cancelled ! We would now like to go to Maho beach in conjunction with a tour. Any recommendations? Is this something we can get on shore or should we go with the cruise line excursion.
We are aware of the pitfalls of going outside the company, just don't know what is available on shore.

Thanks.

rbflyer
Contributor Level: Deck Hand

rbflyer   Dec 03, 2016 - 7:46 am

Yes there is dry cleaning available on the ship. I cruised on FOS in June and my cabin mate had two dress shirts dry cleaned. I don't remember what he paid but I do remember I was surprised it wasn't that much for being on a ship.

kenanddawn
Contributor Level: Deck Hand

kenanddawn   Dec 02, 2016 - 11:15 pm

I am pretty sure they do...but I hear its veeeeerrrry expensive. If you are staying at a hotel the night before, perhaps use the iron there and carry the clothes onboard on a hanger and in a suit bag?
By the way....congratulations!!!!!

If you haven't been here before, find a tour of old San Juan. Lots of cool history and beautiful sights. If you've already done that, hence San Juan should be a money saver, and you walk around on your own. There is enough to do that you can manage on your own, especially if you know enough spanish.

Rb you should consider looking for hotels that offer free schuttle to and from the airport and some even offer a schuttle to the port...the port schuttle may or may not be free. This decision may offset some of your hotel costs.

Don't know much about on-board suit/tuxedo rentals, but they do offer suit pressing and dry cleaning, but it is pricy. Last cruise I had two suits and a couple shirts pressed and it cost in excess of $100, but they did do a good job. This time, I am making sure I have it done before I leave for vacation.

Did anyone have any issues doing online check-in? I was going through mine, and hit a hiccup with the plans for departure and arrival section. My flight home is prior to their suggested 1130am departure time, and won't let me submit my information as a result. Does anyone know what I could do for online check-in shy of changing my flight (which I don't want to do). I do believe there is some early disembarkation, but do not know how to get on that list.

Cockelshell Beach. Go to a spot called the spice mill. Its a Short drive by cab thru the countryside, stop at a bluff overlooking the Carribbean on the Right and The Atlantic on the left, the view will take your breath away. Then back down the Mountain to the beach. There are green Monkeys pretty much everywhere you go on St Kitts.

Hi ken and dawn, they are not ship sponsored that I'm aware of but I have friends who did Bernard's, reviews are great on cruise critic as well as tripadvisor. They guarantee that your back to the boat on time. They'd be out of business otherwise. We don't book with the cruise lines very often because they are too expensive. I just make sure I do my research before I book with tour companies.

Hi Everyone! this is what we'll be doing...Labadee - nothing lol, beach chairs are free, the kids (17,20) have their own snorkels and masks
San Juan - Old San Juan and I read there is a free trolley that takes you around and it also goes to the forts $5 entry good for both. St Maarten doing Bernard's tour $45 and St Kitts doing Thenford Greys Capitol and Beach tour $25. Only 53 more sleeps!

Old San Juan is within walking distance from the terminal. There is plenty to see. El Morro Fort is part of the Park Service. Entrance is a few dollars. El Convento is a place to stop. The town will have the Christmas decorations everywhere.

I have been researching inexpensive port days as well. For us in Labadee, a beach mat for me $15and the waterslide for 9 year old. $25. In San Juan, a walk around old Town and back to the ship for lunch. St Maarten , a water taxi to downtown and beach. ( you can walk to beach and downtown too, save the $7 ish pp
