There is a lot to do and yes they can be booked at the port things that might interest you are hop on hop of bus, yellow and green train, they have a great Aquarium which you can get to by tour or hop on hop of bus, across the road from the aquarium is the beach where you can swim. If you want a day trip you could get a water taxi over to duck island and do some snorkeling (water taxi also leaves across the road from the aquarium. Theirs a market upstairs at the port also another one about 4 blocks to the right only open in the mornings. If you want some yummy french cakes their is a great bakery a block away. Head to the Casino (which is a supermarket not a casino) turn left at the far corner and the bakery is up there on the left. Noumea is a strange city mostly french speaking if you know a little school french you will get on fine if not some of the people can be difficult to deal with. Enjoy your cruise.

My 11 year old son should also be in the explorers group so maybe we may run into each other - hope you all enjoy your cruise

We are thinking the hip on hip off bus. Check the smart traveller site because there was an update for New Caledonia I think but it seems kind of business as usual to me 😊

Thank you. It is nice to know they could be flexible. We can't wait for our trip, it's a well overdue holiday.

I think you can certainly ask for him to be put in the explorers group from the start. A few years ago I went with my daughters who were 13 &15 at the time so should have been in separate groups but wanted to be together. They had no problems putting both into the older group.

Hi, just a quick question about the kids centre. My son has a birthday on the cruise he will be the age for aquanauts for the first 3 days of the cruise and Explorers for the rest of the cruise. Do you think they will just put him into Explorers from the start of the cruise? I know it sounds strange but his sister will be in aquanauts as well and moving him after his birthday might cause issues but if he isn't there from the beginning she will adjust better. Thanks
