I have been before. Best bet is to take a travel card mainly for Noumea and or francs, select few accept AUD. Everywhere in vanuatu accept AUD 👍👍👍

Fung Kuei at Port Villa for duty free items which you can use AUD or cards

I went on a 12 night cruise about 2 years ago and there were 3 formal nights, plus other themes that I had no idea about, but other people did lol thought I'd try my luck and see if anyone knew.. Thanks 😊

Formal nights depends on length of cruise. I read it somewhere in the cruise passenger info. Ours is 11 nights and had 2 formal evenings if that helps you 😊

I've been to most of these ports and they accept Australian dollars, just take $5 and $10 notes :) Noumea does accept Australian, its just more expensive. I payed $7 for a can of coke in Australian lol

I have been informed by a mate who has just done this trip that most places accept Australian dollars except Noumea which is Franks
