We were on the Crown Princess(Oct. 20th- November 17th) for the 28 day Hawaii, Samoa, and Tahiti cruise. We had a great time. All the staff on the Crown was very friendly and always asking if they could help in any way to make our time on the ship even more enjoyable. After 28 days of the same passengers they could have gotten testy. Didn't happen. The cruise directors were fantastic. The party when we crossed the international date line was so much fun. If you ever cross the date line, take part in the celebration. Lots of seminars and port lectures that were interesting and well attended. We enjoy trivia and met some great people from England. Trivia was very popular also. I great cruise. It was my 12th cruise, all of which have been on Princess.

When we did a cruise to Hawaii in 2010 on Princess, they had a luau on the ship the night we were in Honolulu. We didn't get to take part in it as we had booked a sunset dinner cruise for that night. There was listed in the excursions for Kauai a luau that was part of the Fern Grotto tour for this cruise. Don't know if it is open or wait listed.

mdcorny   Sep 26, 2016 - 8:30 am

My whole life I have been hears of the Hawaiian luau. But I see none or any mention of them on any excursions? Were they a myth of past generations?

mdcorny   Aug 13, 2016 - 6:18 am

Plug wrong cruise chat, this on take suits and snorkels!

serialcruiser1   Aug 12, 2016 - 5:57 pm

Jack the 28-day cruise is a fantastic cruise but if you have a problem with sea Days this cruise is not for you. It's been my experience having taking multiple Hawaii cruises and repeating this cruise for the third time that the waters leaving La are rough sometimes as long as three days going out. The weather gets progressively hot the further out you go. Be sure to bring an umbrella head covering mosquito spray and tan lotion. Just like other cruises there are lots of activities but if you're hard to please and bore easily it's going to be a problem.

mdcorny   Aug 12, 2016 - 12:37 pm

Guess we can leave out the swimming trunks his time.

dcaland2001   Aug 12, 2016 - 10:48 am

Printed the boarding pass and luggage tags the first day were available. Now to make my 'what to bring list'

serialcruiser1   Aug 12, 2016 - 12:42 am

The weather out of Los Angeles is generally pretty good however it has been our experience that the water can be rough the first one two or even three days leaving Los Angeles and coming back the last 3 days. Be sure to bring umbrellas mosquito repellent and sunscreen as well as some type of head covering the islands are very hot.

ellinjim   Aug 11, 2016 - 11:47 pm

Will take the 28 day one in October. What is the weather like at that time?

mdcorny   Aug 10, 2016 - 3:00 pm

Amen to that.

serialcruiser1   Aug 10, 2016 - 12:41 pm

When speaking into the phone as opposed to typing , it has a mind of its own.

My wife and I are elite, I don't know how the word eating came out.

serialcruiser1   Aug 10, 2016 - 12:24 am

The only reason I asked about Elite was because it just makes it so much nicer on that cruise for laundry. My wife and I are eating it and it just makes it so much nicer with them doing the laundry.

Can't share much with you right now because I'm in the middle of some things but I'll be glad to get back with you and interact Tahiti has some Island tours just like any other stop and is fairly reasonable. Are you Elite

mdcorny   Aug 09, 2016 - 8:07 pm

Love your thoughts on things not to miss. Can't decide at Tahiti.

serialcruiser1   Aug 09, 2016 - 8:01 pm

My wife and I will also be on that cruise this will be our third year in a row that we have taken that cruise is great

mdcorny   Aug 09, 2016 - 7:16 pm

That's the one!

serialcruiser1   Aug 09, 2016 - 1:44 pm

Are you talking about the 28-day Tahiti Hawaii Samoa Cruise

mdcorny   Aug 07, 2016 - 9:08 pm

Luggage tags and boarding passes are printed and ready to go!

mdcorny   Aug 02, 2016 - 7:22 am

Our experience is that the Pacific is totally different wave pattern from the Atlantic. Once your out of the costal currents, the Pacific lives up to its name, peaceful. That's my opinion.

jackpavelich   Jun 05, 2016 - 8:55 pm

For those who are repeating this cruise... can you talk about cruise days a little? Smooth or rough sailing? Ship activities during 8 days to LA?

serialcruiser1   May 03, 2016 - 10:58 pm

all in all it was a good Cruise as I said before we have taken it twice and are considering taking it again this coming October. we pretty much did our own thing on all of the islands we have heard of Bloody Mary's but never went there American Samoa was one of our favorite ports Tahiti was a bit of a disappointment but we still had fun maybe we'll get a chance to interact further either by email or possibly phone call and I can fill you in on some more of the details get back to me

dcaland2001   May 03, 2016 - 9:31 pm

I was just wondering if you did any of the Princess excursions while in Tahiti, BoraBora and Moorea. If you did what you thought of them. I'm told one must go to Bloody Mary's in Bora Bora, so signed up for island tour that makes a stop there. Thanks for any information you can pass on

serialcruiser1   May 03, 2016 - 2:19 pm

sorry lost your feed yesterday regarding your question to me. yes my wife and I did take the October 28th day cruise and we also took it the previous October so we took that cruise twice and really enjoyed it get back with me and we can interact we are also considering taking it again this October and it was on the Crown Princess

I'm pretty sure you all know, but they are raising the daily gratuity from $11.45 to $12.95 on January 1st. If you pre pay before Oct. 15th you will get the $11.45 charge

dcaland2001   Jul 19, 2015 - 9:28 am

It is a long time til we leave but very excited to take this cruise. I have done the Los Angeles to 4 of the Hawaiian Islands and back to LA in 2010. But I am looking forward to the rest of the islands we will visit. My friends did this cruise and said it is the best cruise they have ever taken.
