any good suggestions for trips while in india

Oct 27, 2017 - 7:22 pm

these people are good and cheaper at under 40-£ a person but still just under 500 for 3 of us ouch

Oct 26, 2017 - 1:06 pm

London or Edinburgh i was told. However i hear if you let VisaCentral package it for you then no visit necessary (so Ive been told) but £74 fee to visa central. Maybe that wud b cheaper than fuel/fares etc getting to the right place.

is there not a consulate nearer as our nearest one is in Manchester

450£ for 3 visas to enter India and get off ship for 2 days !!!!!!!! thanks Celebrity for being so badly organiser and not accepting/sorting out E visa which would have cost me £180

like all of you im so annoyed , lets meet up at the bar and drown our sorrows in a few cocktails -- I had then on the phone , no joy so going to pay the broker sadly as no way can I get to London/Edinburgh at present >>> its a farce

Oct 24, 2017 - 12:36 pm

This is an absolute joke. £194 each thru visa central or 120 and a visit to london or edinburgh ( what with my 90 year old mum?? Sure easy. ) And this is wen we already have spent the 60 each for the legal requirement which is the evisa. As far as i can gather the 2 year one they are now requesting is their one of choice and more than we actually need. The whole thing stinks and as for the timescale it is ridiculous. Iglu have washed their hands of all responsibility. I emailed celebrity and received an automated reply saying they aim to respond within 28 days. Haha. Ive called them but they only open 10-4. Celebrity cruises can do one. Never ever again and this has so ruined my holiday. So angry.

THE COST FOR 3 VISAS IS 470£ ( 120 X 3 plus handling charges ) - if you don't go through a broker then you must visit the embassy -WELL DONE CELEBRITY for not sorting this out

ive just had a ding dong with celebrity over the visa fiasco - this is their cruise into India since the changes to passport rules I believe - they now tell me to use a broker , well thats great at near on £180 plus each instead of £609 for E visa , the one they send you too charges far too much so I said they should have negotiated with the broker to do everyone's at a discount bearing in mind they are sending us all their - or is there a financial incentive to them !!!!!!!

Hi we have just been told the E visas are not permitted so you do have to get a tourist visa with multiple entry.

Just had a blazing row over this with Iglu our agent who have shed all responsibility of visa advice as they ‘only sell holidays’. I am fuming. It should be made clear at booking if there is more than one option and the one that is specifically required should be made plain. Not dropped in an email 44 days before sailing. How many others ‘in our boat’? Have called celebrity who have given me a number fir their visa adviser whose office is closed.

How and where did you get the full vissa - ive just looked on line and it seems I must register and apply then go to Edinburgh or London offices of the Embassy
... I have put a formal complaint into to Celeb as this is a farce and ive just found out tis is the first cruise hey are doing under these new rules and I get the feeling they are not 100% sure - they tell me that if we use a EVisa then they have to send someone on a 1.5 hour each way trip >>I said any passenger given the choice of £60 Evisa or 120 full visa will go for 60 so why don't Celeb say to us pay £60 and pay us say £20 ( we all save ) then Celeb simply arrange a speedy couriers or what ever to get it sorted as 1000 plus at £20 is £20,000 and im sure for that amount the indian customs would send someone to the ship !!!! and thats without my fee for the simple solution

can't believe they haven't installed a scanner

Oct 20, 2017 - 7:52 pm

Thinking of booking a private local taxi as not seen anything that stands out

Oct 20, 2017 - 7:51 pm

There has been lots of discussions about this topic on Celebrity Cruise Addicts fb site, thank goodness we decided to with the full Visa

Oct 20, 2017 - 5:19 pm

Yes I think the cruise line should accept responsibility for this - I spoke to the embassy and they reckon an E Vissa is now accepted BUT Celebrity have not installed the scanners to read them - so we all have to pay a lot more money and fill in far more complicated forms when all we want is a short term visitors visa NOT a 12 month one

Oct 20, 2017 - 4:35 pm

I live in Spain and have had a lot of trouble getting a visa,
It's now costing me over 200 euros for me alone,
I've spent more time sorting this than I will be ashore! Crazy!!

Oct 19, 2017 - 5:19 pm

AHHH just found out from Celeb that we cant use the cheaper £60 E Visa as they don't carry the equivalent to read it so we must pay about £120 each for the visitors visa - WAKE UP CELEBRITY you costing us all an extra £60 a person !!!

Oct 17, 2017 - 12:00 am

Looking forward to this cruise , hopefully nice and warm - just trying to sort VISA OUT and been told we can use E Visa for 60£ each - anyone else done this
