We always pack a reusable water bottle so that we can fill it up with water before we get off the boat.

Power strip, back pack, small fan, meds. Make sure to put in a small carry on or in youth back pack attire for dinner if you want to freshen up. Your luggage will not be in your room until later. 1 12 pack of can sodas or water per person but luggage can not weigh over 50lbs I believe. Blow dryer. The one in room isn't very good. Then normal stuff you pack. Have fun!!!

Margaritaville would be good. It's very colorful and has a relaxed atmosphere. They have giant chairs for photo ops and last year a man dressed as a pirate for photos. The kids we saw there seemed to be having a good time. Don't know about local restaurants.

mizmjoyner   Nov 03, 2016 - 10:32 am

I'll be on the Triumph Dec 5 as well! The Triumph isn't quite as big as the Dream, but it's still not a small ship! The Dream does 7-day cruises, also out of New Orleans. Different ships have a few different features, like different types of restaurants, but if you look at the layouts they are all laid out very similar. The Promenade deck has the casino and shopping, the Lido deck has the main pool and buffet, the lobby will always have guest services, the bar, and the glass elevators in or near the atrium where you board, Camp Ocean is usually on deck 10 or 11, there are 2 dining rooms, one in the center and one near the rear, Spa is always up high and forward, like deck 12. They have little ship maps when you board (and also at guest services), as well as a diagram beside all the elevators.
Just explore and HAVE FUN!

I'm on the December 5th cruise too and in a lido cabin for the first time. I read a few reviews listing poor water pressure and problems with ac as issues. But the majority of reviews were outstanding as far as cabin location.

Not too bad. I have stayed from top to bottom. Bottom is the worst in my opinion. You won't be sleeping much. Too much to see and do!! Have fun. I'm about to go on my 8th cruise.

We're going on our first cruise in December and staying on the Lido deck. Pros/cons? Is it noisy at night?

Bring a power strip for extra plug ins. There is only one regular outlet in the room. Just don't bring one with a power surge. Those are not allowed.

We always bring reuseable water bottles. We fill up during breakfast and take it with us when we get off the boat. No need to search for drink.
