did you find the upgrade on your own or through a travel agent?

wallyworld70   Oct 21, 2016 - 11:32 am

did you book through carnival or a travel agent?

the_champlins   Oct 19, 2016 - 6:02 pm

kohoshinook   Oct 18, 2016 - 7:21 pm

Check your booking prices! I just upgraded from a 5th level inside cabin to an 8th level balcony and received $120 OBC!! I feel like it's Christmas morning! Lol!

kohoshinook   Oct 18, 2016 - 7:52 am

Exactly 2 months now!! So excited!!

cinomania   Oct 17, 2016 - 4:55 pm

My grandparents on the pride now! Can't wait till it's our turn !

kohoshinook   Oct 14, 2016 - 9:30 am

Lots of disappointed people, I'm sure, but nobody can control the weather! I heard Carnival was very generous with OBC, discount on the Cheers package, and 50% off a future cruise.

the_champlins   Oct 12, 2016 - 12:42 pm

The decision to do another NYC/Canada cruise last Saturday. That was the plan the week before, but they ended up spending a day and a in NYC, then coming home.

kohoshinook   Oct 11, 2016 - 10:52 am

I see that the Pride is in NYC. Is it because of Nicole making the water dangerous, or did Matthew cause far too much damage to host any tourists?

kohoshinook   Oct 09, 2016 - 6:29 pm

I am looking forward to the chocolate melting cake! Lol! But the thing I'm most looking forward to is the dolphin excursion in Freeport...if it's still there!

jimmyham   Oct 08, 2016 - 8:59 pm

we r sailing on Dec 18 - just hoping we are able to
go to SC, FL, And Bahamas AFTER Matthew!!!
SO happy we did not book excursions NOW.

cinomania   Oct 06, 2016 - 11:58 am

Anyone gonna be playing ball at the basketball court? My favorite thing of the pride!

  Oct 06, 2016 - 11:55 am

Moved rooms again....started in Oceanview, went to balcony guarantee for almost same price...and now I spent just a little more and went with the extended aft balcony, wife's favorite spot.

73 days!! So excited for this holiday trip.

cinomania   Oct 06, 2016 - 11:55 am

Both great things! There are so many things to be excited for!

Kierra   Oct 06, 2016 - 8:36 am

Serenity deck cuddle loungers, balcony sunrises and the Pizza Pirate!

  Oct 04, 2016 - 10:08 am

The food is the obvious answer. In addition I enjoy the comedy shows and doing trivia too. Can't wait!!

cinomania   Oct 03, 2016 - 8:08 pm

75 days, cruise keeps getting closer! What are you most excited for

the_champlins   Sep 27, 2016 - 10:11 pm

We were on her in April, and did not notice any vibrations in MDR. We had an afternoon cabin, and did notice some there, but found it soothing. LOL

kohoshinook   Sep 26, 2016 - 2:40 pm

We noticed the same thing 2 years ago, right before they refurbished it. We were told that would be fixed during the refurbishment. Must be they couldn't fix it for some reason?

Kierra   Sep 26, 2016 - 2:10 pm

When we were on the Pride last December it vibrated really bad in the dining room and Aft of the ship. Has anyone been on the Pride recently & if so was it noticeable?

cinomania   Sep 25, 2016 - 11:26 am

kohoshinook   Sep 25, 2016 - 11:25 am

Ok. I was just going to tell you there is a group on F B for our holiday cruise. No biggie tho!

  Sep 25, 2016 - 9:11 am

More than merrier sale ends today, discount for 3 or more in a room. I was able to bump us from ocean view to balcony guarantee for just $10 total.

cinomania   Sep 25, 2016 - 8:03 am

Don't have it sorry, all social media but that lol

kohoshinook   Sep 25, 2016 - 8:02 am

Cinomania, are you in the F B group for this cruise?

cinomania   Sep 25, 2016 - 7:51 am

No problem, if you have any other question don't be afraid to ask!

kohoshinook   Sep 24, 2016 - 11:19 pm

Ok, thanks for the info! It's good to know what to expect. It's usually my husband and I traveling alone, as we don't have kids, so we weren't sure about the teenage club rules.

cinomania   Sep 24, 2016 - 11:13 pm

They are very strict, actually last cruise I was still 17 and had a friend that was 18 , he was not allowed to do activities. There plenty to do still so she won't need to worry! My first cruise not being in teen club as well

kohoshinook   Sep 24, 2016 - 11:11 pm

Cinomania, Desi will just barely be 18, her birthday is in October. Will she be allowed to do activities with her sister in the teen club? I really hope she doesn't get bored on her first ever vacation, let alone first cruise!

cinomania   Sep 24, 2016 - 4:56 pm

Maybe but just have both!

  Sep 23, 2016 - 9:30 pm

Burgers are good but the burritos are better!! Can't wait.

cinomania   Sep 23, 2016 - 11:39 am

Only 86 days till guys burgers!!!! Best burgers ever

cinomania   Sep 20, 2016 - 12:36 pm

Ya the 18 year old age for cruising can sometimes be tough, still young and like to be active around ship but to old for teen program then also they are too young for adult stuff

kohoshinook   Sep 20, 2016 - 12:33 pm

Cool! I can't wait to meet all of you!

sandyshep123   Sep 20, 2016 - 12:29 pm

Also my 24 year old daughter. She's my other adult :)

kohoshinook   Sep 20, 2016 - 12:28 pm

Oh, I am beyond excited lol! That is awesome your kids are same age as my nieces. Maybe they will hit it off on the 17th and be able to hang out during the cruise. Is it just the 3 of you traveling Sandy?

cinomania   Sep 20, 2016 - 12:27 pm

My work pays for it , I let him have it when he comes in for the night for a few minutes.

sandyshep123   Sep 20, 2016 - 12:25 pm

Especially without wifi. I'm not buying it.

cinomania   Sep 20, 2016 - 12:23 pm

Oh yes my son can be annoying if he isn't hanging with new friends and pestering us instead lol

sandyshep123   Sep 20, 2016 - 12:18 pm

I hope so, you know how teens can be. Lol, gotta keep them busy.

cinomania   Sep 20, 2016 - 12:17 pm

I'm sure there will be bunch of teens as it being a cruise during Christmas breaks

sandyshep123   Sep 20, 2016 - 12:15 pm

I think you are as excited as I am about this cruise :)

sandyshep123   Sep 20, 2016 - 12:14 pm

Boy is almost 17, girl is 18

kohoshinook   Sep 20, 2016 - 12:05 pm

Sandyshep123, are your teenagers boys or girls? My nieces are going to be with us, and they are also 16 and 18!

kohoshinook   Sep 20, 2016 - 11:53 am

Guest services can add them to your Sign & Sail cards as a credit. Easy peasy!

cinomania   Sep 16, 2016 - 11:43 am

You can use them to pay for the cruise or on board credit, I usually call carnival and they take care of it easy

sandyshep123   Sep 16, 2016 - 10:28 am

Can someone tell how I would use the Carnival Gift cards? Do the get credited to my an board account?

sandyshep123   Sep 16, 2016 - 10:14 am

I've heard that from some other folks too. Can't wait to get on board! I'm sure we are going to love The Pride.

cinomania   Sep 16, 2016 - 10:12 am

3rd time on the pride my son favorite ship, it's just the right size in our opinion.

sandyshep123   Sep 16, 2016 - 10:09 am

Same here. I haven't cruised since 1987! Lol. And I'm extra excited to be at sea for Christmas :)

cinomania   Sep 16, 2016 - 10:07 am

So excited never been on a holiday cruise

sandyshep123   Sep 16, 2016 - 10:07 am

That's great...we will have to get together.

cinomania   Sep 16, 2016 - 10:06 am

Awesome @sandyshep123 ! Traveling with my wife and 18 year old son   Sep 11, 2016 - 10:47 pm

sandyshep123   Sep 11, 2016 - 9:46 pm

97 days!!!! Anticipation!

sandyshep123   Sep 10, 2016 - 4:36 pm

I will have my 16 and 18 year olds with me !

  Sep 09, 2016 - 6:51 pm

No, not familiar. Have fun planning your cruise. Going to be great.

kohoshinook   Sep 09, 2016 - 1:00 pm

Actually I believe it was called Paula's Donuts. Have you heard of it?

  Sep 09, 2016 - 12:56 pm

Can't blame him for that. Tim Hortons is the popular chain in the area.

kohoshinook   Sep 09, 2016 - 12:54 pm

We were just in Buffalo last Thursday. My husband just HAD to look for a donut shop his friends kept telling him about.

  Sep 09, 2016 - 12:52 pm

kohoshinook   Sep 09, 2016 - 12:45 pm

That sounds like a perfect plan! We live in Elmira, NY, but we also have a seasonal campsite and fishing charter business in Point Breeze, NY. What city are you from?

  Sep 09, 2016 - 12:36 pm

Where in NY you from? We are originally from WNY?

  Sep 09, 2016 - 12:36 pm

We are driving in from Ohio. We usually drive to Frederick then spend the night. Drive hour to port next morning and park there. Real easy and convenient, like parking there so we can self carry off and get on the road after.

kohoshinook   Sep 09, 2016 - 12:31 pm

Or the seriously hairy dude! Lol!

  Sep 09, 2016 - 12:25 pm

I think there are 3 now. Your on vacation, try it either way. No one judging unless it's the heavy guy in the speedo.

kohoshinook   Sep 09, 2016 - 12:22 pm

There was only one sad slide at the very back of the boat before the renovation. It really didn't look like any fun to us, but it looks like they've improved it. I'm losing weight in anticipation of the cruise, maybe I'll feel comfortable with myself enough to try the slides this time.

  Sep 09, 2016 - 12:13 pm

I did the slides last time but don't remember/didn't use before. They were fun. Good activity on a port day if not venturing out or not all day. Sea days it's busy as you'd expect.

  Sep 09, 2016 - 12:11 pm

All that walking is just a drop in the bucket compared to my burrito intake.

kohoshinook   Sep 09, 2016 - 12:10 pm

I saw there is also a new outdoor movie screen, a new pool, and has the slide been upgraded? The pics look different than I remember.

kohoshinook   Sep 09, 2016 - 12:08 pm

Lol! We always walk at least 3 miles everyday, take the stairs instead of the elevators, and visit the gym a few times so we can get away with eating more!

  Sep 09, 2016 - 12:06 pm

Best renovation was adding guys burgers and blue iguana burritos. I gain the most on the Pride.

kohoshinook   Sep 09, 2016 - 12:00 pm

Another tip, get to port early to avoid the long lines. They usually start boarding around 11am, and as soon as you're on board you can go to the lido deck for a buffet lunch, music, and the bartenders are walking around with some nice drink specials. Unless you're a real lush, I don't recommend the Cheers package. You'd need to drink 10-12 drinks everyday in order to pay for it, so it's cheaper to just buy your alcohol when you want it.

kohoshinook   Sep 09, 2016 - 11:55 am

We bring 2 credit cards and a fair amount of cash with us. We keep most of it in the safe, and carry what we're willing to spend at each port. We're paranoid about using credit cards in foreign countries/islands because if some scam artist finds a way to steal our account #'s, and they max them out before we disembark the ship, even if it's covered by insurance later on, you can't leave the ship until you find a way to pay. We had an issue on our first cruise to Alaska, we only had a little cash and our debit card, and our bank's computer system was down on the weekend we tried to disembark, so it kept getting denied, and of course nobody was there to answer their phones, so thank God our friends had won big at the casino and lent us the cash to pay our bill. Ever since,we put cash on our sign & sail cards as soon as we board, and add more to it as needed throughout the week so there's no surprises at the end lol!

kohoshinook   Sep 09, 2016 - 11:46 am

We live 6 hours away, coming from NY state, so preparing for possible bad weather, we are leaving the night before. My sister lives an hour away from port so we're staying at her house. Last time we got a hotel room, they let us park in their secure lot for the week, and they offered a free shuttle to and from the port. That's probably your best option. As far as what to bring, ALL medications you may need, including OTC, because literally a bottle of 12 ibuprofen costs $12 on the ship. Same goes for personal care products, like body wash, shampoo, razors, sanitary napkins, sunscreen, aloe, bandaids, etc. You'll need a couple dressy outfits for the formal dinner nights, bathing suits, a light sweater or sweatshirt for cool evenings, comfortable walking shoes. Very important... your passports and 2 photo copies of them! Keep your original and a copy of your spouse/children's on you at all times. Have your spouse or travel companion carry their original and a copy of yours on them. Keep a second copy of everyone's in the safe in your stateroom. That way you're covered if anybody loses one. Most people also bring a lanyard keychain to attach the sign & sail cards to and wear it around their neck. You can also purchase one on board for about $8.   Sep 09, 2016 - 11:28 am

Thank you! Just a few questions! What is the most important things to bring!? Also we are driving to Maryland we live about 5 hours, should we leave early that morning or leave the night before!

kohoshinook   Sep 09, 2016 - 11:26 am

I'm always nervous until I'm aboard! There's so much to do to prepare, with packing, making sure we have all our documents, trying not to forget anything, and the road trip to the port. But once on board, it's nothing but fun and relaxation! Do you have any questions? I'd be happy to help you in any way!   Sep 09, 2016 - 11:23 am

I cannot wait, a little nervous but excited

kohoshinook   Sep 09, 2016 - 11:22 am

Nope, this will be my husband's and my 4th cruise, 3rd time with Carnival, and 2nd time on Pride. It's exciting to share one with my family finally. I'm anxious to see how they renovated the ship since we were last on it.   Sep 09, 2016 - 11:18 am

Awesome! First cruise for me? Same for you?

kohoshinook   Sep 09, 2016 - 11:14 am

Awesome, thanks! It worked this time. I sent a request 😎

kohoshinook   Sep 09, 2016 - 11:12 am

You can find a small map at the customer service area, a large map hanging next to each elevator, and there are also signs.

  Sep 09, 2016 - 11:12 am

The link above just copy and paste it in your browser. I don't Facebook so can't give more detail but takes me to a page for Bahamas Holiday

kohoshinook   Sep 09, 2016 - 11:09 am

Ok, I'm officially frustrated! I can't seem to find the Bahama Holiday on Facebook, and when I copy/paste the bookmark link it took me to a Black Panthers page. I'd love to learn more about the cruise details over the Christmas holiday week!

kohoshinook   Sep 09, 2016 - 11:03 am

We prepay so that it doesn't get charged to our sign & sail cards, but then the last evening we tip our waiters (you keep the same 3 your entire trip) and our Porter extra cash because, trust me, they earn it!!! We also usually tip our bartenders a little bit each day. The staff gets paid so little for their work, so they rely on the tips to send home to their families.

kohoshinook   Sep 09, 2016 - 10:57 am

I usually print 1-2 months in advance and store them in the safe with our passports. Luggage tags are essential, because they take our luggage at the port entrance and deliver them to your stateroom. They do go through the luggage to check for contraband, so be sure all your meds, jewelery, documents, and anything valuable are all in your carry-on. I usually put the tags on just before putting the luggage in the trunk. It's kind of stressful getting prepared for the cruise, but once you board, you feel 10lbs lighter and stress free for the duration!! Enjoy!

kohoshinook   Sep 09, 2016 - 10:51 am

Us too!! We're having our first ever full family vacation together with my sister, BIL, and nieces. So excited!   Sep 08, 2016 - 11:44 pm

100 days!!!

wallyworld70   Aug 23, 2016 - 12:26 pm

first time cruising. we will be on the carnival pride. when you board is it confusing on how to get to your cabin? I imagine there are signs directing you where to go.

the_champlins   Aug 22, 2016 - 4:43 am

Sorry, but it is angering to see the long of people, on the last day, waiting to take money away from the staff.

the_champlins   Aug 22, 2016 - 4:41 am

First, you can. But what is the different between a month early, or on the second day? Also, what is there to adjust? A measly $12/day, divided among a group of workers? These people work their butts off, and deseve much more! We make adjustments too: we give staff additional cash.

kporter75   Aug 22, 2016 - 2:35 am

I've never prepaid for gratuities, but there have been rare situations where I've needed to adjust gratuities. I'm not sure that can be done if they're prepaid.

kporter75   Aug 22, 2016 - 2:28 am

Print them whenever you want, as long as you remember to bring them with you. Luggage tags don't need to be in color and you doubt need to attach them before you get to the port.

the_champlins   Aug 19, 2016 - 7:52 pm

wallyworld70   Aug 19, 2016 - 3:20 pm

how do I get on your face book page ? thanks

wallyworld70   Aug 19, 2016 - 3:19 pm

cruise is paid for and I did the online check in. It's saying I can print luggage tags and boarding passes now. I'm going on the cruise in Dec. when should I print these or wait until December? thanks

cinomania   Aug 19, 2016 - 3:15 pm

the_champlins   Aug 19, 2016 - 12:55 pm
