baby_diva   Oct 24, 2016 - 11:13 pm

Sounds awesome!

Shukonda   Oct 24, 2016 - 10:22 pm

We booked Dunns River Falls and the Jamaican bobsled for Jamaica. Jet skiing to starfish beach and stingray city in Cayman and Mr. Sanchos in Mexico

kapp   Oct 24, 2016 - 3:11 pm

Same here .. so ready

baby_diva   Oct 24, 2016 - 12:45 pm

What is everyone doing for excursions?!

baby_diva   Oct 24, 2016 - 11:28 am

Alright! Way to go! You're going to be totally prepared!

Shukonda   Oct 24, 2016 - 10:28 am

So yesterday we tried out all of our new stuff for the cruise! Snorkel gear ✔ fake go pro ✔ goggles ✔ Waterproof cell phone pouches ✔. They are all a go lol. Dresses are hemmed and fitted, suits are tailored ✔ cruise documents printed ✔. Now to pack it all in and not forget anything! I'm mentally ready to check out!

Shukonda   Oct 24, 2016 - 10:23 am

I have been buying things but still haven't packed yet! It's about to be crunch time. I'm trying to get my 19 yr old son ready also and it's like I have a toddler because he's not helping! Aaah plus working. Can't wait for this vacation!

baby_diva   Oct 24, 2016 - 7:49 am

13 more days! I only have to survive 2 more work weeks, and then I get my hard-earned vacation! Can't wait!

baby_diva   Oct 21, 2016 - 10:20 am

16 more days!!!

baby_diva   Oct 20, 2016 - 10:04 pm

You'll see a wide range. Some people barely do enough go get by, just to get in the main dining room to eat lobster...other people go ALL OUT. You do whatever makes you comfortable.

Shukonda   Oct 20, 2016 - 9:13 pm

Does everyone dress up really formal? I was looking at some pics thru Google and I feel like I'm gloomy to be overdressed. I almost feel like why did I put in all this effort lol. I don't know.

baby_diva   Oct 19, 2016 - 2:26 pm

They are optional. You are not required to participate. However, the best food in the main dining room is served on those nights.

baby_diva   Oct 19, 2016 - 2:25 pm

Second night and sixth night, I believe.   Oct 18, 2016 - 7:06 pm

What nights are the formal nights?

douglasp13   Oct 18, 2016 - 9:19 am

I bought the unlimited sofa package once...once! I was bound and determined to get my money's worth. By the end of the week I frank so many cans of Coke that the cost was under 50 cents a can. But sofa has lots of sodium. By the 4th day I couldn't walk because the sodium retained water and my feet swelled and was in so much pain. I drank more Sosa in that week than I ever had. Never again.

baby_diva   Oct 17, 2016 - 10:16 pm

Yes, purchasing from the Fun Shops is much more cost effective, if you can get over paying a massive mark up. ($85 for a $20 bottle of liquor). But still WAY cheaper than the Cheers package.

kapp   Oct 17, 2016 - 9:35 pm

You can purchase it from the gift shop and have it sent to your room also..

baby_diva   Oct 17, 2016 - 8:53 pm

I would say no, but it depends on how much you'll drink. $50 per person per day plus 15% gratuity comes out to about $800. And 3 of the 7 days of our cruise are port days, so you'll spend very little time on the ship on those days (if you're planning to get off the ship). Just my opinion, but for us, $800 for one week of beverages just isn't worth it.

ddearm00   Oct 17, 2016 - 7:54 pm

Our first cruise. Should we get the drink card or not

ossmant   Oct 17, 2016 - 1:53 pm

Thank you as well.

baby_diva   Oct 17, 2016 - 10:58 am

I can't believe we only have 20 days left! Ill be going into full on preparation mode this week! Can't wait!

Meky   Oct 16, 2016 - 3:38 pm

20 more days now, I'm ready!!!!!

baby_diva   Oct 16, 2016 - 11:54 am

No iron in the room. There are laundry rooms with access to irons. I bring Downy Wrinkle Release. They do provide shampoo and body wash but you can bring all of your own toiletries, even full sizes. Carnival doesn't have size restrictions. The room does have a hair drier but if your hair is very long or thick, I would bring your own, theirs are very weak.

Shukonda   Oct 13, 2016 - 1:26 pm

Is there no iron in the room? I looked and apparently there's 1 in the laundry room I guess. Can you tell me what other things that is in the room and can I bring my shampoo and conditioner and hair mousse and hair spray?

baby_diva   Oct 12, 2016 - 10:34 pm

An extra hour on the boat! Whooo hoo! 🙌🙌

douglasp13   Oct 12, 2016 - 10:11 pm

Thank you Baby Diva, we have already planned to vote. We sure can't miss this one. And I want to remind everyone that we turn our clocks back an hour the morning we leave port. We get an extra hour of sleep!!! Woo hoo!!!!

baby_diva   Oct 11, 2016 - 10:41 pm

Look at us, doing our civic duty! 😉🙌

Shukonda   Oct 11, 2016 - 8:17 pm

Printing my paperwork tonight so I can vote!

Shukonda   Oct 11, 2016 - 8:15 pm

Ok thank you. I came across some so I wanted to check before buying them.

baby_diva   Oct 11, 2016 - 4:56 pm

The Sail & Sign card doesn't come with anything. They sell lanyards at the port but I would recommend purchasing ahead of time, since they're over priced. I have found lanyards at the Dollar Tree. There are also waterproof cases that you can put around your neck.

Shukonda   Oct 11, 2016 - 3:14 pm

Should I get a lanyard for the sail and sign card thing or does it come with something handy to not lose it? TIA

baby_diva   Oct 11, 2016 - 11:23 am

Friendly reminder to everyone that the election will take place while we cruise. So we'll all need to vote early or do absentee voting ballots. But we should all vote!

baby_diva   Oct 11, 2016 - 11:21 am

gamme4   Oct 11, 2016 - 11:01 am

I'm so ready

baby_diva   Oct 11, 2016 - 7:35 am

Oh, absolutely! We've always cruised in either late October or early November and its always been nice and warm. On our 2014 cruise it was a tiny bit windy/cool on the last day when we were headed back to New Orleans, but always plenty warm to hit the pool and the beach in the ports. Maybe just being a light sweater because it does get windy at night.

douglasp13   Oct 11, 2016 - 7:29 am

Okay Baby I have a question. I've cruised several times but this is our first cruise in November and I was wondering this: Is it warm enough to swim on boat and at the ports? Just wanting to know your opinion. I've looked at average temps and I know weather trends but just wanted your thoughts.

baby_diva   Oct 09, 2016 - 11:59 am

28 days and I am getting so excited! I ready have clothes and toiletries packed up!

Shukonda   Oct 09, 2016 - 4:30 am

It's ok lol. I did ask my travel agent and she said there is no additional charge but I'll just be prepared just in case lol!

baby_diva   Oct 09, 2016 - 12:14 am

You know what, I may have had Captain's Dinner confused with Chef's Table. Captains dinner may not be extra at all. Captain's dinner just may be one of the formal nights.
You know what?! 5 dang cruises and I am still learning crap! 😆😆

Shukonda   Oct 08, 2016 - 9:43 pm

Thank you. They just arrived today so that's a check off my list! Another question. Is the captains dinner one of the 2 formal nights or is that in addition to the 2 formal nights? Thank you so much!

baby_diva   Oct 08, 2016 - 11:41 am

Pro tips for the first timers: Being a power strip (no surge protector). There's only one outlet in the room. Bring an over the door shoe organizer to help keep clutter and all items off the counter tops. Bring water shoes, because beaches in Cozumel can be rocky. You don't need to bring a beach towel, Carnival provides them.

baby_diva   Oct 08, 2016 - 10:49 am

Oh, something I just thought of. Some of the beaches in Cozumel are rocky. You and everyone you're traveling with will want to bring water shoes.

baby_diva   Oct 08, 2016 - 10:20 am

No, the formal nights don't cost anything, but the Captains dinner that you mentioned does. Its $75.
Your questions are no problem! That's why this forum is here. I LOVE to talk about cruising, it's my favorite topic! 😆😆😊

Shukonda   Oct 07, 2016 - 11:13 pm

I don't go to clubs either. Been like two or three times in my life thus far but I figured I might go on this cruise if I can't find something better to do. I'm coming with my 19 yr old son and his 20 yr old cousin lol

Shukonda   Oct 07, 2016 - 11:11 pm

Ok I will. So the formal nights cost extra then? Sorry for so many questions. I'm glad you mentioned that because I didn't know it cost extra. I'm still going but I just didn't know.

baby_diva   Oct 07, 2016 - 5:33 pm

And still bring all your swimsuits and cover ups! You'll still want those too!

baby_diva   Oct 07, 2016 - 3:56 pm

The last two weeks of my life have been SO STRESSFUL! I need this vacation like I have NEVER needed a vacation before!

poetikmelody   Oct 07, 2016 - 12:36 pm

Oh yea!!!!!!

kapp   Oct 07, 2016 - 12:06 pm

I'm ready.. need it too.. 🎉🍹🍹🍹🍹🍹🍹🍹🍹🍹🍹🍹🍦🍹🍹🍹🍹🍹🍹

baby_diva   Oct 07, 2016 - 10:02 am

The Dream is a larger ship and is pretty stable. You'll probably be okay in heels as long as you're not drinking too much 😉😆. Wedges are a good option too. Yes, there are night clubs. I don't know what people wear cuz I don't go to them, but I would imagine the same thing you would wear to a club on land. Pretty much bring like 2 outfits per day...casual for walking around the ship during the day, and something dressier at night. Also, the regular shows, I wear what I wear to dinner to those.
Captains dinner is an extra $75 I think and we've never done that. Probably pretty dressy tho.

Shukonda   Oct 07, 2016 - 8:20 am

Do they wear heels for the formal night? I've never been o.k. a cruise and I don't know how much the ship will be rocking but I have heels lol. I don't want to fall lol

Shukonda   Oct 07, 2016 - 8:06 am

I do plan on doing one of the formal nights as I can't get my son to dress up more than that lol. My travel agent said to do the captains dinner? What about going to shows? Is there a night club and if so, what do people wear to that? I think I mostly have dresses. I don't wear shorts but I do have capris

baby_diva   Oct 07, 2016 - 7:30 am

That first post should have said *shorts /capris/sundresses, instead of shirts... sorry! 😆

baby_diva   Oct 07, 2016 - 7:29 am

30 days everyone!!! It's almost here! Hope everyone is as excited as I am! 😀😆🙌🐬🐚🐙🍸🍺🍻🍹☕🍦🍪🍔🍕🍟🍗🍜🌴🌞🌊

baby_diva   Oct 07, 2016 - 7:26 am

Oh, sometimes it does get chilly in the dining rooms and in the lounges for the shows. Not a bad idea to bring a sweater!

baby_diva   Oct 07, 2016 - 7:25 am

It may be cool in New Orleans, but it will be warm once we're out in open water. It does get windy at night. I would say bring shirts/capris/sundresses for walking around the ship during the day. Super casual. At night, I usually wear black dress pants or leggings and a nice blouse in the main dining room, but jeans are acceptable too. There are 2 "elegant" nights where you can REALLY dress up if you want (cocktail dress or evening gown) but it's completely optional. You can skip it and eat buffet orn room service on those nights if you want. I hope that helps. Just ask if you need to know Any thing else.

Shukonda   Oct 07, 2016 - 2:23 am

Can someone please tell me what the attire is for on the ship or when eating? I was mainly bringing bathing suits and cover ups but I don't want to be ill prepared. I hope it won't be too cold!

baby_diva   Oct 05, 2016 - 8:18 pm

You're welcome!

mel54321   Oct 05, 2016 - 8:10 pm

OK thanks

baby_diva   Oct 05, 2016 - 7:07 pm

No, it does not. The sushi bar was replaced by the Taste Bar. However, they have sushi as an appetizer in the Main Dining Room some nights.

mel54321   Oct 05, 2016 - 6:50 pm

Can someone please tell me do carnival Dream has a sushi bar on it.

baby_diva   Oct 04, 2016 - 10:18 am

Congratulations! Our 5th cruise also. Our first cruise was our honeymoon, this one is our 5 year anniversary! 😆
I started packing this past weekend! So excited, and ready to head south! 🙌🙌

kapp   Oct 04, 2016 - 8:25 am

I'm so ready for this cruise!!! A big party about to happen..hey where is all my party people..

anne_marie93   Oct 04, 2016 - 12:11 am

We are getting so close!! This is our 5th carnival cruise and this time it's our HONEYMOON! 💍👰🏼❤☀️We are so excited! Cozumel and Georgetown are our favorite places we have been before. We are planning on doing Mr Sanchos again because we had such a blast the last time. Not sure about the other two. Almost time to start packing. It'll be here before we know it! 😎

Shukonda   Oct 03, 2016 - 6:36 pm

Now I'll have to look into what ocean plaza is lol

Shukonda   Oct 03, 2016 - 6:36 pm

baby_diva   Oct 03, 2016 - 8:15 am

I started packing last night! 😆

baby_diva   Oct 03, 2016 - 8:15 am

You're in a great area, close to the action! I love ocean plaza! You're close to the action! I'm on the same cruise as you. Its gonna be a blast!

Shukonda   Oct 03, 2016 - 6:55 am

Thank you! I've never went on a cruise so I doubt even know what to do on the ship lol but it sounds like I guess I'm in a good area? I appreciate your help!

Shukonda   Oct 03, 2016 - 6:53 am

Thank you very much

baby_diva   Oct 02, 2016 - 11:18 am

Also very close to elevators which will be very convenient.

baby_diva   Oct 02, 2016 - 11:17 am

You're right above ocean plaza! Should be fabulous! There's always stuff going on on Deck 5, and all you have to do is take a flight of stairs down and you're there! Also very close to the casino! You have a great midship location and I think you'll really really enjoy it!

baby_diva   Oct 02, 2016 - 11:13 am

I have no idea why anyone would look straight down! 😆 It's just a complaint that I have read that some had had about the balcony cabins on deck 6. I've never booked one myself. 😆😆 It does soon more logical to look OUT instead of DOWN, though, doesn't it? Also, I went and read some other reviews for balconies on deck 6 after your post, and evidently some of them may be above the Encore lounge. Check the deck plan and make sure your room isn't above anything that may disturb you. I hope you enjoy your cruise SO MUCH.

baby_diva   Oct 02, 2016 - 11:05 am

Absolutely! If its after your check in time, you'll be allowed to board!

Shukonda   Oct 01, 2016 - 9:58 pm

When we pick our check in time and accidentally wind up being late for the check in time we picked, can we still get on? We are driving in and we plan to leave in enough time to have a cushion but if we wind up with unforseen circumstances that will make us late for our check in time, I just want to make sure we can still get on. This is our first time cruising. TIA

Shukonda   Oct 01, 2016 - 9:35 pm

May I ask what the advantage of looking straight down would be? This is a true innocent question. Not a smart comeback or anything. I thank you for answering. We will be in 6390 upgraded from deck 1 ocean view. I just hope I made the right decision.

baby_diva   Oct 01, 2016 - 6:37 pm

Luckily, the only thing above you is cabins. So your room should be quiet.

baby_diva   Oct 01, 2016 - 6:25 pm

I'm not trying to rain on your parade, but here is something to be aware of. There's a lanai that wraps around the Promenade deck (Deck 5). So your view straight down may be obstructed by that. Furthermore, people who are walking on the lanai will be able to look up and see onto your balcony. Just something to be aware of.
Obviously your view straight OUT to see won't be obstructed. I'm sure you'll enjoy your balcony!

Shukonda   Oct 01, 2016 - 3:40 pm

Just upgraded to a balcony stateroom and its on deck 6. Can anyone give me any info. I hope it was a good move!

bethk2493   Oct 01, 2016 - 1:53 pm

Finishing up cruise shopping today! Got to start packing soon!! We leave for New Orleans in 1 month and 2 days(spending two days in New Orleans before shipping out).

bethk2493   Oct 01, 2016 - 1:36 pm

36 more days y'all!! 😆😆😁😁

baby_diva   Sep 27, 2016 - 4:16 pm

If you mean having your luggage taken aboard the ship on embarkation day, the 6th, its free. Of course, you should tip the porters who take your luggage (they'll be wearing Hawaiian style shirts) about $1-$2 per bag.

pinman64   Sep 27, 2016 - 4:09 pm

Myself and 3 others are thinking of driving to New Orleans the 5th....Dose anyone know how much it cost to have our luggage taken aboard the ship.

kapp   Sep 27, 2016 - 3:30 pm

baby_diva   Sep 09, 2016 - 11:15 am

That's cool! I was born and raised in Monticello, and my husband as well.
We'll get out of here, one of these days!

pinman64   Sep 09, 2016 - 11:14 am

My daughters graduated from there

baby_diva   Sep 09, 2016 - 11:13 am

Pinman64, Hey, that's awesome! I have been through there many times! Played lots of band competitions there when i was in junior high and high school (many moons ago! 😆).

pinman64   Sep 09, 2016 - 11:11 am

baby_diva I use to live in Hampton, Ar.......

nannyg320   Sep 07, 2016 - 6:22 pm

I hope it's not delayed either! We should land around 11:30 so we should be ok (fingers crossed lol)!

baby_diva   Sep 07, 2016 - 6:19 pm

Y'all, I need this vacation so dang bad! My job makes me want to beat my head against the wall sometimes!

baby_diva   Sep 07, 2016 - 6:18 pm

Ooohh, Nanny, I hope you make it! I would always try go fly in the day before. Hope your flight isn't delayed for any reason! Yikes! You may be cutting it close!

nannyg320   Sep 07, 2016 - 6:16 pm

I also started shopping this weekend because the clothes are now marked down! We fly to New Orleans the morning of embankment but we're staying an extra day afterwards to sightsee and fly home Monday! So excited!!!

baby_diva   Sep 07, 2016 - 11:47 am

We're coming from Monticello, AR!
Lucky you for no hotel and no parking fees! Wow!
If I lived 10 minutes from port I would want to cruise like once a month! 😆😆

malloy   Sep 06, 2016 - 9:38 pm

It is a 6 hour drive for me too. We are coming from Houston, AL.

malloy   Sep 06, 2016 - 9:37 pm

My son lives 10 minutes from cruise terminal. No parking or hotel fees for me. Lol. He comes in handy sometimes.

baby_diva   Sep 05, 2016 - 2:16 pm

Oooh, malloy, I will have to check that out! We're heading down to New Orleans on the 5th, staying overnight in Kenner. 6 hour drive for us!

malloy   Sep 05, 2016 - 2:03 pm

Me too. I'm going on the Nov. 6th cruise too. I got a bunch of clothes over half off at Belks online site. Anyway I can't wait.

baby_diva   Sep 05, 2016 - 12:00 pm

Y'all are going to be so addicted!

baby_diva   Sep 05, 2016 - 12:00 pm

Me too, so excited!

mel54321   Sep 05, 2016 - 5:30 am

That's wen I cruise on the Dream out of New Orleans and I can't wait until I leave

baby_diva   Sep 04, 2016 - 6:51 pm

I waited til I knew that fall stuff was coming out in the stores to try to go find some shorts and capris (on sale). I got 3 pairs of shorts, a pair of capris, a skirt, and 2 tops. I will take some clothes that I already have, but will probably require 2 outfits per day, one outfit for during the day and another for dinner at night. We typically don't spend much time lounging by the pool at all. In the past I have bought all new clothes for cruises, and while I do like to some new pieces, a new wardrobe isn't necessary!

baby_diva   Sep 04, 2016 - 5:54 pm

I started doing some shopping today. It's finally starting to get close! Like close enough to start getting REALLY excited! 🙌
This is our last 3 day weekend before we cruise!

mel54321   Sep 03, 2016 - 1:20 am

Hay that's the day I leave on the Dream

malloy   Sep 02, 2016 - 6:14 pm

Me and my friend are on that cruise too. I can't wait.
