November 2015 - Jewel of the Seas to Caribbean - Southern
We have been on 15+ cruises but this was our first time on Royal Caribbean. We chose this cruise because of the ports and only one day at sea, but also because we wanted to try Royal Caribbean. First the positive, beautiful ship with miniature golf, rock wall and two pools that are open 24 hrs. The adults only pool is indoors and very nicely decorated.
Now the disappointing part! The ship vibrated and jerked at different times and unfortunately did it one night making it impossible to sleep, (we were on deck 10). I love the rolling of the ship but not being jerked around when trying to sleep!
This was the worse entertainment we have ever had on a cruise ship! First night was nothing but introductions, second night was Greg London who was entertaining but not that talented, third and fifth nights was ship's singers and dancers which seemed more like a high school musical with less talent, fourth night was the ship's cruise director doing karaoke of Neil Diamond!! The sixth night was our only real entertainment with an acapella group that were great and then the last night was nothing but farewell of staff.
Food was sub-par and if you wanted better food in the dining room you had to pay extra for steak or lobster or go to the specialty restaurant. Even the Lido deck cafe was very short on food options and not good quality. It was the second worse food we have had on a cruise ship.
Beds were hard and cabin small.
So no we will probably not do Royal Caribbean again.
