Food was Great. Too much of a Party Ship by spadamj

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Carnival Sunrise

We chose this ship because the timing had minimal impact on 6 children missing school and we spent Thanksgiving on the ship. The dinner was great. The food overall was very good. However, this ship has very minimal areas for shade near any of the pool areas. Carnival uses the overhangs near the pool for food areas and tables. Very, very hard to find shade. If you like an extreme party atmosphere, this is for you.

Staff was amazing but the ship is horrible. by marturanojodi

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Carnival Sunrise

The Carnival Sunrise is a horrible ship. It was overcrowded and has a horrible layout. If it was not for our wait staff, band, and performers our holiday family vacation would have been a huge disappointment.

Thanksgiving Cruise by lisaj321

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Summit

The main issue for us was the main dining room...we were seated at a nice table for 2 right in the middle of the tables with large families, adjacent to a table of 5 children, 1 adult. We love children and don’t mind being adjacent, the problem here wasn’t the children, it was the adults. All through dinner the children (who looked to range from 5-8) were climbing over the tables, standing on the chairs and in the windows and screaming at each other…the problem was the one adult seated with them was more interested in her phone and the rest of the adults in her party at another table across the aisle. It was impossible to identify which adults the kids belonged to as none of the adults interacted with them! Not once did she (or any of the adults in their group) remind them that they are in public, use your inside voice, it’s not polite to scream in a restaurant, come down off the table, sit in your seat, etc. I get it, this was a Thanksgiving cruise, so lots of families, but really? It’s simple, teach kids from a young age how to behave in public. We let our waiter (Sumantra) know that we wouldn’t be back and were pleased to find a new table assignment (on the “adult” side of the dining room…) for the remainder of the cruise. The new wait staff, Wilger (new to Celebrity) and Mayra (just a lovely lady), and Jomar, the sommelier, were fantastic.

Beautiful ship, wonderful service by 50hkrick

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Celebrity Summit

It was my first time on Celebrity, ship was smaller which was nice, less lines. Lots of fun things to do and staff were awesome. Just wasn't as thrilled with the main dining room meals, very small and a few were bland.

New Ship by jojomon

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Ascent

Not unexpected on a first sailing of a new ship, there were a number of systems with glitches and some staff, in shops, not fully familiar with merchandise and check out processes.

OK experience by m11

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Breeze

Overall it was an OK experience. Not sure if better than going to a good resort in Mexico. Food quality below expectations for sure. Port is quite isolated which forces you to get a tour to enjoy the day

It was good by lili7677

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Mariner of the Seas

Room steward was excellent. But we were cold in the room we called maintenance twice because we had moved the temperature all the way up to try to heat the room and it didnt work. MAINTENANCE did come but it was never fixed nor did they tell us anything so we just didn't even bother for a third time calling again we just opened up our balcony door and let the hot air come in to get the room a little warm but cl basically we froze the whole time not a good experience.

Great 5 Day Getaway! by dbschade

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Radiance of the Seas

Overall we had a wonderful time on Radiance of the Seas. While the ship is older, it has a ton of charm and character that you’ll come to appreciate. We would cruise again on Radiance or one of its sister ships!

Beautiful ship by ddcolina363

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: MSC Seashore

MSC definitely had it quirks. I loved our cabin. I would try MSC again but not sure my husband would. Lack of eating places a big problem for a ship that size. Other cruise lines have other free places to grab something to eat. You are limited to the buffet or your assigned dining room for dinner only, not good for that many people. Alot of waiting in lines. My kids didn't like that ice cream was only served at 4pm in the buffet and the line was 5 miles long. Again, maybe they should try to follow suit with other cruise lines on food and ice cream being readily available.

Beautiful suite, ship, kind staff, food and service lacking by cypresslodge201

Seashore is a beautiful clean ship with lovely cabins, kind staff. Just not enough staff, really subpar service and food. Has potential to be great.

Magical Disney Cruise by Cruiser73332053

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Disney Dream

It may be cliche to say our cruise was magical, but it truly was. The Disney touch was everywhere and it was a dream come true. From the moment you walk on the ship the entire crew makes you feel special. Everyone is personal, helpful and a delight to be around even though they all work so hard. There was always something to do, but also was just a wonderfully relaxing experience. We became friends with our two Dining staff that were with us each night and they truly were a highlight for our family. We can't wait to go again!
