Good trip as usual except for cabin, never doing inside again! by Kimberkk

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Nieuw Amsterdam

Good cruise on Holland America which we'd sail again but never in an inside cabin again. We were disappointed by the upcharges at the specialty restaurants and that the items that used to be included are no longer included and you need to pay for. They need more bar/wait staff, took over 30 minutes each time for drink orders.

Much to do and spacious rooms by cschapker

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Mardi Gras

Clean, spacious, quiet rooms. Brought wine and soft drinks and kept in fridge and drank from our own packed insulated cups. Many activities to do. Busy, laid back, whatever you wish to do many areas to sit by pool, quiet areas and busy. Great options for many.

Would Not Cruise with Princess Again by CruiseChick07

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Sun Princess

I did not feel that, in general, Princess did not prioritize customer service as well as Celebrity. 1) Drink lines were very long. They would have the same bar servicing "to go" orders as one that had people standing in lines. Meanwhile, other bars were not open. It was not uncommon to wait 30 minutes for a drink. By the time you got it you almost had to get back in line. Celebrity not only had all bars open but they also had employees manning an iced container where you could walk up and get a beer. I feel sure if I asked them to keep Truly in it they would have accommodated me on Celebrity 2) I had to walk to a bar at dinner anytime I wanted a drink because they did not have Truly in the restaurant. They had them at all bars, though. The wait staff did not offer to get them for me. 3) The rooms were very narrow, comparatively. It felt like they were trying to cram in as many passengers as possible. 4) The quality of the shows was much lower than Celebrity. One of the performers (the unicyclist) was doing gay jokes. While I already did not appreciate this sense of humor, he was also using a small child in one of his tricks and I was especially offended that he would do gay jokes in front of a child. 5) Most nights we have to wait 2 hour or more to get through the dinner process so we often missed the 7:30 shows. 6) No one ever waited on us if we were sitting at the pool, etc. If we stopped someone to ask for a drink (because the lines were so long) they looked surprised and as if they were doing us a favor. 7) The non-alcoholic drink options were terrible, unless you buy an extra package. It was pretty much only warm water or terrible lemonade. If I wasn't having a cocktail (which were sparse due to the lines), I was drinking room temperature water.

Icon of the Seas lives up to the hype by kelbyglass

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Icon of the Seas

Icon of the Seas is a vast improvement over previous ships. Royal Caribbean has applied countless lessons learned to truly make this the ultimate cruise ship. You will not be disappointed. Yes it is the world's largest cruise ship, but it never felt crowded. I can not recommend it enough.

Another nice cruise with carnival by daunz

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Mardi Gras

Second time on this ship, came back because we really liked it. The shows and the comics were really good…food is decent, not gourmet, but so many options (most are included) you could find something you liked. Saw lots of reviews on social media saying food was terrible! Not true! I’m a pretty good cook , I was in the restaurant business, and we live in an area known for great Italian food amongst other cuisines. Not everything is exactly how I would prepare it, but the cruise line has to accommodate tastes of people from all over the country and we all have different ideas of what’s good so I’m content with what they prepare….for 7000 passengers. I bet some of the negative remarks come from people raised on frozen and fast food (yuck). No one complains about the quantity though!

Ocean as Blue as 1492 by fsurob15

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Freedom of the Seas

I would hope that when people sail aboard a cruise ship to the Bahamas, they take some time to watch the ocean and the sky. Let your mind journey to a time of wooden ships with masts, only 70-80 feet in length. Sailing into waters never charted before by explorers. There was a time when ships of any size broke the waves. The ocean is still as blue as it was in 1492. Be thankful for what others braved for us. The sea, the wind, the cold and the unknown.

Great Caribbean Cruise by Abnzoomie

My overall rating of the cruise is 10. The excursions could offer more time at the stops to explore and take in the scenery.

Wonderful Eastern Caribbean Cruise by bred77

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Celebration

Overall we had an amazing time on the cruise. This was the largest boat we have ever been on and although there were over 5,000 people onboard, it did not feel overcrowded. There were many places for people to hang out and many different options for food. The staff on the boat were amazing and the ports were awesome.

Great time away by NicoleWillis

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Celebration

Our cruise experience with Carnival had many ups with only a couple downs. We enjoyed the new amenities but there were so many people on the ship it was sometimes too overwhelming. It was difficult to enjoy sometimes because of the crowds.

A wonderful getaway for our family by jrniemeyer

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Vista

We had a great time on the Carnival Vista and enjoyed the ports of call! We had a rough sea day on the way back, so that was disappointing, but had a wonderful trip other than that. We preferred the Horizon crew to Vista, but they were perfectly fine. Amber Cove was our favorite port of call. We used the fitness center and spa pass everyday and loved it!! Our son had a great time at Camp Ocean. The musicians onboard were absolutely fantastic!!!! Food was great.

Wonderful Caribbean Cruise so far. by gdiazjr1053

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Magic

We enjoyed the cruise. The beach, the food, the shows. Roman was a great comedian. The other guy was unprepared either he had a hangover or he forgot his lines. He kept looking at his book of jokes. Will do it again soon.
