Norwegian Escape

February 2017 - 7 Night Eastern Caribbean (Miami Roundtrip) Cruise on Norwegian Escape

This was our first cruise ever and I could not write this fast enough. PLEASE if first cruise with escape or ever, do not read any review with 3 or less stars. I did and worried, don't !! Everything was incredible !!! I would say experience all the restaurants you can, we had a dining package 3 special restaurants it was the best experience. Absolutely loved the French restaurant and Steakhouse, also the Italian restaurant was wonderful too incl. a glass of wine! Remember even if you don't have special dining package there are lots that are free, just don't forget to tip waiter. Do dress up at night it's fun and take the time and take advantage of the professional photographers they have throughout and build your photo book in the photoshop ! We didn't do the spa ( had rare day pass on my BD only b/c we were in port). But do spend the $200 it would so be worth it. Only time I got to swim was in the spa!! The only negative thing was pool are standing room only and forget getting into hot tubs ( decks) they are few, small and the ones that get there seem to spend the day. But the spa has massive jet/ wave pool. Etc.. Deck chairs are limited but still always lots to do all the time. Something for everyone !! Don't worry about getting sick.. we loved apon entering buffet they have many hand washing stations, or hand sanitizing stands and if people didn't use they forced spraying your hands. Which being a nurse thought was awesome !!! Only sick person we met was a lady with a hang over. Loved the fact you can get a water package. Lots of ice in buffet area. Food was amazing we went one day late lunch and saw they clear and throw out food after a strict time limit. Everything is extremely clean and they continually have senior/ supervisors staff overseeing areas all the time. Ship is so modern up today and you feels so comfortable and safe to go anywhere at anytime. Day 3 found the Brew house in Atrium and is as good as Starbucks!!!! ( extra cost, but so so worth it). Seem with bake shop!! Our stateroom were gorgeous and cleaned twice a day !! It's true no outlets in bathroom but for electric razor... but out in living room they have tons of outlets and mirror that runs length of half the wall. Hairdryer was great, varied speed and heat settings. Bathroom had lots of shelves and storage. We had lots of towels and lots of space. Shower included shampoo, conditioner and body wash that's good quality and not drying. Also 2 corner shelves, good shower head, pressure and no fluctuation in temperature. Bonus was clothesline in shower as need be!. Hand soap was wonderful and left hands soft ! What else? Oh beds are comfortable, we had choice of single beds or push together for queen/ king bed 4 nice fluffy pillows & light duvet. Night stand on each side with more storage, above is light with USB outlet for charging. Master light switch right there too! We loved the tv for keeping us on schedule for times we booked restaurants and or shows. Showed our excursions etc. Great schedule handler, had were you can keep track of expenses in detail. Showed ship info, speed etc. Bridge photo; details on restaurant, excursions etc. Then had regular TV movies etc.. however we were so busy we only watched one movie! Spacious closet with over 20 hangers shelving on one side and good size safe. Couch could fold down if you need another bed. Under couch had extra blankets etc. A/c was perfect and easy to use. Even heat on those days you get to much sun! Our balcony had 2 chairs and table. Inside across from couch counter with coffee maker, fridge below. Next time I would probably ask to have emptied before we arrived. Plus lots of extra storage. Suitcase fit under bed. I was extremely surprised how big everything in room and bathroom was! I would suggest bring magnetic paper clips we did tip our Stewart and was well worth it. Glad we brought cloths pins for our beach towels on chairs and drying wet swimsuits! Also glad we brought card holders for room keys. Someone posted about housekeeping we were spoiled then. By door inside our room is a switch for notice outside room for "need room done up", or do not distribute and when your in your room outside door let people know your in. Smart feature is when you enter you need to but key in slot so light come on. Then when you leave and take your card acts like a kill switch and all power is off. Save luggage space do not bring cloths lines, do not bring power bar as suggested but someone said extension cord.. maybe for doing hair in bathroom, but fine for us.! We had the time of our life and being two girls, it was safe, spacious and always something fun to do!!! We even were able to check off stuff from our bucket list like " swimming with the dolphins" etc.. Excursions are safe but so is getting your own taxi, just be smart stay in tours areas and be aware. It's easy to share with other passengers to from ship, keep in large numbers you won't have any problems. Don't Stress and it was an incredible experience of our life. Ps. If you do their laundry service wait till mid- latter week it is half price for $19.99 for large bag, in closet ( we didn't personally do but after thought how smart). Enjoy !! Avoid the negative comments !!😎
