Very well organized so we had a quick and easy time getting checked in.

We have sailed many times from Long Beach. Embarkation process was quick/easy. We normally drive up the day before & stay on the Queen Mary, we just enjoy the experience of the old ship. There is a nice bar (observation) at the back of the ship that we enjoy.

We went to Hollywood, nearly 1.5 hours by coach to get there, over 2 hours back...in fact you will need to take either a tour or taxi to visit anywhere of note perhaps with the exception of Long Beach. The traffic around downtown L.A. is horrendous, the ship left six late passengers who were caught up in traffic. Be warned! Oh yes, Hollywood? Think Blackpool or Southend but without the sticky rock. Tacky in the extreme!

It was easy leaving our luggage and getting in the line for FTTF. Wait wasn’t bad and it was nice inside. The security line wasn’t long for us. Everything was well managed for us.

We flew from GA to Lax and took the Super Shuttle to Long Beach, then spent the night at Hotel Maya. The hotel was decent but you pay for the location. The on-site restaurant was great, but our room selection was changed last minute, the room was small, and the bathroom door was broken. Our third floor room overlooked a courtyard that held an evening wedding and kept us awake until after midnight. When we left the room to check out the elevator was broken so we had to drag our bags down the steps. We took an aqua bus across the bay and enjoyed an evening walk in the park -very nice and only $1/person one way!

Port is clean and beautiful. We live just 15 minutes away so it was a great Uber drive.
