This is our first time sailing out of NY and debarkation took forever!! We’ve been on 15 cruises now and always do self-assist checkout. Usually we’re off the ship by 8:30 at the absolute latest. This time, it was 11:00!!! I’m glad we drove to the port and didn’t have a flight to catch. Our cruise director warned us ahead of time that NY based ICE and Port Authority are probably the most strict of any port and very particular about what they are looking for. There were also only 4 customs booths open by the time we got into the terminal and very long lines. The terminal looks to be a work-progress as it is essentially just a warehouse. On the bright side, it was nice and cool which made the wait more tolerable. If flying, I would suggest booking a later flight.

We arrived a day early so we could spend a full day in New York. Our hotel was in the financial district. We walked the Brooklyn Bridge (highly advisable) and took the subway to see the sights in Upper Manhattan.

Entered NYC while it was still dark and sailed by the illuminated Statue of Liberty. A site not to be missed. Did not tour the city as we took the bus to the airport immediately upon disembarking.

Flew in the night before departure and attended one of the Broadway shows. Plenty to do and see.

i’ve lived in ny my whole life (i live on long island) and i literally adore the city more than anything in the whole world. i totally recommend coming here and enjoying everything nyc has to offer :)

Loved leaving NYC at night. The view of the city was off the hook. We sailed right past the Statue of Liberty. All lit up, she looked amazing . Debarkcation was rough. Taxi and bus situation was so confusing.

We sailed from New York this ywar and I have sailed into New York in the past before.. There is so much to do here everyone is catered for... We have taken a hop on hop off bus tour with sightseeing (the red bus) there are so many different routes and we happily went on each of them. You can go to central park - so much to do in here.. from going to the zoo... seeing the statues and fountains.. enjoy the green space inside such a busy city Then there is Empire state building which if you have an opportunity .. go during the day AND night to see the beautiful skyline alight Rockerfella centre in winter there is a skating rink.. and you can go top of the rock which you get some amazing photos from. Grand central station - there is a guided tour and a self guided tour which we opted to do this time arouns.. so much history and really fun to do I enjoyed our four days in NYC however there is so much more we need to do we will be back to New York

We did not tour here but enjoyed the sights coming into the harbor.
