If you are driving in, shop around for parking prices. We saved $80 over others we spoke to, and it was an easy walk to pick up our car after. Embarking was a bit of a process, but disembarking was quick and easy. The Norwegian Gem staff is amazing.

Cruises on Queen Mary 2 from Red Hook Terminal on 4 day cruise r/t to Halifax and it was a breeze. Checked in and in cabin within 30 mins. Everyone was so pleasant. Only downfall was disembarking off ship within few mins. Had to wait for car service an extra hour in morning. It was all great.

Port is fine but staff on gem nasty rude disrespectful and they just didn’t care I only sail Norwegian and this is the first time I was ever treated so bad

What can I say. New York is New York. The drive in to port was pleasant and easy (we parked at the pier on the terminal roof) as was the drive out. I was surprised at how smooth the traffic flowed.

My only complaint was that the ship did not depart at 5 We got there a little after 4 was we we told that the ship was about to leave Which would have been fine if we didn’t get stuck in traffic The agents were a little rude with us and we were just trying to get ourselves and bags on the ship
