Cabo is too crowded and commercial.. three ships in port that day, stops in Sea of Cortez would be much better. Mazataln has not much to offer to my liking although the beach would be nice. Puerto Vallarta is the most interesting big city.

The port and pier are a good space to head off on organized tours, but there’s little in the immediate area to spend your time. San Diego is working on that, and it may be a different story by 2023. One notable exception — the next pier over is the USS Midway naval museum! This is the real aircraft carrier from the 1950s through the 1990s, outfitted as a permanent museum with military displays and an excellent collection of Naval aircraft! Touring this gives a great notion of what life was like in the US Navy. Princess does not offer excursion tickets, but Viator and Cruiseline (here!) do. Don’t bother with them. Unless it’s a packed and busy summer day, you can buy tickets on the spot for the same cost.
