Do not miss the shark and stingray snorkeling excursion with George! It was WAY better than similar tours in Bora Bora and Moorea.
Tour stopped at many spots. Explained coconut food and use for the tree especially as ropes that last hundred of years. topped at an overlook. Served fresh grated coconut, fresh island fruits and baked breadfruit. Rode in the cab with a driver and we discussed cost of gas, cost of internet, TV services, and groceries. Island seemed to be more lush than the other islands.
Rain of course, but we did visit a small local family owned vanilla farm. Smelled fantastic! Bought some vanilla sugar. Not a big sugar person but have been using in my morning coffee. Quite tasty….Every couples of seconds you would see a chicken or two strutting by. Our truck driver was very knowledgeable, personable and hilarious…
Our second favorite place to dive and go snorkeling.
Wonderful drift snorkel in the morning, then beach bbq lunch on private motu with the ship. Great!

We went to the private island. Amazing day and they took great care of us. Got to know some fellow shipmates that day.
