I enjoyed the tenders to and from the ship, not everyone did! Akaroa not very big but we did enjoy the red Double Decker trip even though it was delayed by an hour and a half. Driver and guide gave super commentaries in a very friendly way.

Didn't get to see that much. It was a tender port and they were so unorganized we didn't get to shore until 12:45. They let people taking Princess shore excursions off first.

Swimming with dolphins. This is an OPEN WATER swim and you must be a VERY GOOD swimmer. NOT recommended for children/young teenagers.

We visited Christchurch for the day on our own. It was a 90 minute bus ride to and from Akaroa which got us to see the countryside. Christchurch is still in a state of repair from the earthquakes of a few years ago.

Smooth tendering into this port. We chose to do a 2 hour nature cruise with Blackcat cruises. It was excellent we got to see a lot of wildlife and great scenery . Would highly recommend. Akaroa is a lovely little town with plenty to see an do.

We took a trip of the area and then visited a penguin sanctuary. We saw a lot of rugged beauty of the area and great views from the tops of several mountains.

Without a doubt, this was the surprise of the cruise, and a most pleasant one at that! To find an authentic French village in NZ was an absolute delight, and being able to visit the Giant’s House made it even more special—what an amazing place to see!

Lovely little down that gets overridden with ship passengers. We did a small group tour on a mini bus that visited a few places we hadn't been to before.

Super pretty tourist town. Lovely walk around the bay. Souvenir prices however were inflated so we held off. Limited wifi access at restaurants etc but can be found at the BNZ & food market. A little wait on the tender process but that’s to be expected with everyone eager to get off.
