The beach visit was nice as was this upscale vacation city. We did the Oceania Highlights & Classic Car excursion. This was our 3rd car excursion with Oceania from past cruises but this “car museum” was a waste of time and should not have been offered.

Take the local bus tour ($25-50) it hits all the hot spots and is an incredible value. Then have lunch with the incredible water view.

Punta Del Este, Uruguay is another gorgeous city and is much smaller than Montevideo. It also has breath-taking beaches that stretch for a long way.

Punta Del Este is just a summer get away resident city for the wealthy from Buenos Aires and very nice but you will find nothing but a long walk if you do not purchase a shore excursion

The port is a major resort, with high rise condos, nice beaches, lots of shopping and eating venues, and a feeling of safety when walking around, which is how we spent our time.
