Punta Del Este is just a summer get away resident city for the wealthy from Buenos Aires and very nice but you will find nothing but a long walk if you do not purchase a shore excursion

Beautiful port with tons of expensive private boats/yachts. This did feel like a resort community and had beautiful homes. We just took a leisurely excursion to see the area.

We did a ship's excursion "Punta Del Este & Casa Pueblo Museum." This was a typical ship's excursion and was not very exciting.
