Nothing to do unless you bought a shore excursion because it’s a shipping port

Port is just industrial with lots of cranes. Definitely want to do an excursion. We did Go With Gus Rio Dulce river tour. It was a great tour. Lasted 4 hrs and then we got back on ship.

Stayed near the terminal as there was a large terminal with a band playing and many local crafts to buy. This was ideal for many people as they did not feel comfortable traveling too far away.

This exceeded my expectations. Our family took the trolley tour, and the guide was excellent.

We took a local tour guide to see the ruins, It was nice. Again, no need to book with the cruise line, plenty of folks lined up to book you an excursion on shore.

We LOVED this port!!! I like to see how people live - not shop at Diamonds International. We booked a tour that picked us up by boat. We went around the coast into the river and far back into it to a Mayan School. We took a tour, spoke to teachers and students and were fed a delicious lunch. Then back in the small boat to the town of Livingston for a walking tour and some shopping. Amazing place!!!!

The internet description of our shore excursion was misleading and therefore our shore excursion was not what we expected and we did not enjoy it. It was very over priced too. The country side was dirty and the people we encountered blamed all their country's problems on the United States.
