Nice market at cruise port. Took ship excursion, river boat & train. Guide and boat driver were fantastic, spotted sloaths, bats, lizards etc, very enjoyable. Train through banana plantation was just plain boring, banana plants, nothing else.

Our “Meet the Sloths” tour was fascinating and a great learning experience. It was my favorite excursion of the cruise and you better book early since it’s the first to sell out. You’ll visit a sanctuary and take a canoe ride through a dense forest to witness animals.

Go zip- lining. It was so much fun. Only hit was they didn’t seem ready for our first group and we had to wait on one of the platforms about 30minutes with about 10 others. A safety line broke, but they had already taught us how to stop ourselves if we had to, so this was no big deal, other than the wait of them also trying to fix it.

Wonderful country. Very friendly. Eco-tourism oriented. Went to a hacienda (farm) well worth the trip.

The sloth sanctuary and canoe adventure is fun. While they do not allow anyone to hold the sloths you get quite close to them and learn so much about them. In the canoe I recommend not moving to much or there is a chance of tipping, shallow rivers but still a risk. My group was lucky enough to see a wild sloth come down for its weekly ritual that only takes mere minutes to do. I'll spare you the details. The store in the sanctuary, any purchases goes back to caring for the sloths. As weird as this sounds try the little snacks they have in the store, one is cheese and dried pineapple.

Over paid ships excursion but was good bus, train, and boat. You can get it cheaper from the venders.
