About Cruise Gatun Lake (Inside Panama Canal)

Gatun Lake was created in 1912 by damming the Chagres River on the Isthmus of Panama. The Panama Canal crosses Gatun Lake through the Gatun locks on the lake's west side. The lake has a rugged coastline and contains many islands. Its water provides part of the route for the Panama Canal and is also used to operate the locks.

One day would be great. But Wasting two days is boring. Very hot and humid lake. Nothing special. Lots of mosquitoes and bugs. Would never go back. Plus the toll to pass was around $40,000 and no offshore excursions. I have heard Chinese want to build another one in Nicaragua.
