As in Jamaica, a lot of misinformation. We only used US dollars, unlike research that said you had to change money at ATM. Instead of paying $20 each way to go to the old walled city, we paid $15 round trip by walking outside of the gates. We were told it was a 2 block walk to taxi outside, it was literally right outside. Another fear tactic. It's a disgrace how the people inside the gate (and Princess) use scare tactics to get people to use their highly over-priced services.

Port was a little disappointing. I probably chose the wrong tour. We were on a hop on hop off bus and the tour was quite disorganized. It was boiling hot but Ali was happy to see Gabriel Garcia Marquez house via the bus. We enjoyed the area outside the ship and saw a plethora of wild animals. I hope to get back. Love their coffee.

Bad traffic and very hot. Make sure you take a NCL excursion. We were 45 minutes late returning to the pier but the ship waited. Lots of aggressive vendors.

This was our first time to Colombia and we wanted to see some of the city, but also have a good time. We did a Chiva Party Bus tour, which is a tour with alcohol to drink along the way. The tour includes rum and Coca-cola plus a beer towards the end. We had a great time and got to see some of the tourist highlights of Cartagena.

The hop on hop off is only useful if you want to see the new city. The tour of the old city was awful. There was a free tour and those guides seemed to provide a lot of information.

We did a old town city tour. The guide was hard to understand. The pan handlers were awful.

We did the horses and carriage ride through the old city and it was so nice. We did not like the vendors shoving stuff in our faces wanted us to buy. But otherwise it was a nice ride. It was so hot that day, wish I had an umbrella to block the sun.
