We toured with Dora the Explorer and can't say enough about how great the tour was. Kept us ahead of the crowds and was most informative. Highly recommend using Dora.

We took the Celebrity Sea Rumba excursion which used a nice boat to get downtown (with rum drinks but not the promised appetizers on the return trip) and a guided walk in the downtown area. The return boat trip was very pleasant and the downtown walk was informative and nice enough but it was somewhat ruined by the aggressiveness of the street vendors and the fact that we ended the walk with a 30 minutes visit to a sponsored jewelry store (but you could just walk around in the area if you chose to during that time). I enjoyed this port much more several years ago as I do not remember the street vendors being so pushy. That time we took a lovely a Segway tour. This is definitely an interesting city.

"Cartegena City Tour" booked through this site was fabulous. Pretty much a private tour, as there were only 6 of us on the tour! We saw all the sites while learning much about the city and feeling safe because of our experienced tour guide. Unconditionally, I would recommend this tour!

Did the Canoe Tour of Mangrove Tunnels and Old City Stroll, which was amazing. Tour Guide was very knowledgeable and easy to understand. It was extremely hot, so you need to dress accordingly. Sunglasses, long bib hat and sunscreen a must. Everyone concerned about fly bites but we had no issues with that, even though we were in the mangroves. Even though it is not guaranteed, we seen lots of wildlife while on our tour (ie. monkeys, mawkaws, 3 toed sloths, hundreds of different birds, and a mother crockadile with her babies. Book a ship tour, definitely would not go out on my own in this place. Bring tip money, there are stops along the way whereby people perform for you and expect a tip, and also for your tour guide.

This was one of our best excursions ever on any cruise! We purchased the horse drawn carriage ride through the Old City. We were met at the docks and conducted through a small zoo area with exotic birds and animals to our car for what turned out to be a private tour. The comfortable vehicle came with chilled water bottles in the armrest. The driver was careful but knew how to navigate through the congested streets. Our guide was knowledgeable and well spoken. We stopped at the huge old fort for a brief photo op and then on the the walled city where we transferred to a horse drawn carriage and a ride through the beautiful narrow streets with colorful and ornate buildings. It's a large area and busy with other taxis and people strolling about, site seers and local residents going about their daily business. The tour ended at the souvenir shop area, and we were driven back to the ship. This was a tour offered by Cruises Only and it was a great experience.

The port was beautiful, especially the high-rise buildings viewed from a distance as we entered and progressed into the harbor. We did an excursion to the Aviary to hear the history of the area and also see and experience the exotic birds on the island of Baru. Notable was how poor the residents lived, yet how expensive the land was to purchase.

Hot and muggy! We did a tour of the city. Our tour guide warned us of the many street venders and boy, was she right! The port is located in an industrial area.
