We stayed two extra days here at Hale Koa Hotel, it’s right on the beach. We visited Pearl Harbor, the huge out door mall, spent time on the beach and did a luau at paradise cove. It was wonderful.

Pearl Harbor-can I say more! Very educational and blessed to have the opportunity to see and discover more about December 7, 1941.

Rented a car in Honolulu but there is no shuttle here as well. Got a better deal renting at the airport location with no shuttle. Took Uber to pick up the car for about $17 each way. Taxi was $30 each way. There is a car rental office closer with shuttle but they closed much earlier in the day and wanted the car for longer. We were able to see a lot of the area. Went to Pearl Harbor but the boat out to the Arizona Memorial couldn't run because of the high wind. Get your Arizona tickets online 2 months before you go. They are first come first serve otherwise and you will not have time to get over in time to get a ticket otherwise.

morning we walked to chinatown - I love asian cultures and this chinatown a mere 10 to 20 min walk from the pier depending on your speed, we then walked to the King staute then to surprise my wife who is in the law profession the federal court house for pictures, it was sunday when we got there and super bowl sunday so the city was quiet and no traffic. the morning was about 3 hours of walking. we relaxed then did Princesses Luau excursion to Germaines lovely time if you want a fun time go. the buffet is good the show is way better.

Third trip. We took the excursion that took us through the city, then into the crater of Diamond Head, then up towards North Shore. Stopped at an aquatic park for a dish of ice cream.

The extra day in Honolulu allowed time to look at the port area and surrounds.

Honolulu is a huge bustling city, with tons of crazy traffic, honking horns and rude crowds. We walked 3 miles from the port to Waikiki...no problems. The skyscrapers are more abundant than french fries in a super-sized MCDonald's order. The prices in the Waikiki beach restaurant at the Hilton were so excessively high we walked out...$20 hamburgers...I think not. Great shopping mall with high-end stores and associated high-end prices. It is Hawaii and everything has to be imported by sea...or that is their excuse for high prices. My suggestion while on Oahu...take a tour from the ship and get out of the city ASAP!

So much to see! We've been here before, but Waikiki has cleaned up and updated itself.
