We didn't do an excursion in Hilo mostly because of the poor weather. Instead we did our laundry on board and took a Walmart shuttle to Walmart so did a lot of the crew go to Walmart.

Pleasantly surprised and went to rainbow falls and a lava tube excursion with a brief visit to a black sand beach. Wow. The island is so beautiful.

We just went shopping. We did have an unexpeceted over night stay as a huge swell was behind us . The captain played it safe and stayed than getting caught in the storm.

Enjoyed seeing the volcanoes. Wish we could have seen lava up close. Did see a little at the Volcano National Park visitor's center. When the ship left, you could see hot lava flowing down the side of the island.

We did the volcano and island adventure tour with C Big island Tours, it was a great tour.....be sure you get Edmond as tour guide. We saw the black sand beach, Volcano Crater / Jaggar Museum, Steam vents, Lava Tube, Macadamia nut factory, Orchid Garden and rainbow falls.

It’s very easy to rent a car on any of the islands . We rented a car here . Then we went and got a marriage license. Then we looked up a judge to marry us . We drove to the office and got married. Then we had a wonderful time driving around the island seeing the waterfall, and wonderful beach. It was so exciting to get married on Hilo . It’s so beautiful here . The volcano was erupting into the ocean. What a beautiful sight.
