Did a walking tour. Venice has flooding problems which are getting much worse due to rising sea levels and sinking land.

We stayed at Hotel Canal Grande night before cruise. Recommend. Location is convenient to cruise port/train station. Night after stayed at Antiche Figure. Also on Grand canal and location convenient. 2 nights were plenty in Venice. Very crowded with tourists.

Again docking locations were not convenient. There was a private visitation to St Mark's cathedral with an Art Historian and that was one of the highlights of the trip. Magical. The other Venice tours we went on were weak.

Going inside the Doges Palace. This was an included excursion. Many steps up and down. Viking has a water shuttle back and forth from ship to old town.

Had 2 days after the cruise. Loved it despite overcrowding. Best but was getting out on the water taxi to Murano and Burano.
