The previously included Melk Abbey is far better than the Gottweig Abbey

Loved this part of Austria. Did the e-bike tour offered with Viking. Tour guides were excellent and the trip to Durnstein was so pleasant and enjoyable. Wish we could have spent more time there.

Viking seems to have invested considerably in the Göttweig Abbey, so the Viking ships stop here, but it seems like an artificial stop.

We sailed on the Danube during the day. The ship should have handouts to explain what we were seeing during the trip. We had a handout on the Rhine cruise. It would have been helpful. We saw the Gottweig Abbey in Kremlin. It’s a working Abbey and we even saw 2 of the Monks when we were on the tour.

This was only a drop off point for the transfers to the inclusive tour to the Monastery. It was a good tour enhanced by the blanket of snow that greeted us. Whilst on tour the boat reloated to Tulln, where we rejoined it for the journey to Vienna
