This is our favorite port in Europe. We did a "free" walking tour and learned so much about the city. Have the pallella and sangria on La Rambla, visit the Gaudi properties (especially La Sagrada Familia), but they are all fantastic. The midevil part of the city is fascinating, we saw Flamenco dancing there and it was incredible and intense. So much to do so little time. Plan ahead 😎

Unfortunately our first impression in Barcelona was negative. Adding to the accident and the stress of spending 24 hours in the hospital and the fear of missing our cruise, people there don't seem to care to learn English. Communication was extremely difficult. I still want to go back there to make up for what I missed.

Don't miss the Sagrada Familia - our guide explained each sculpture on the facade - very interesting. We also went to Park Guell. Again, bring water!

It was terribly windy & rather chilly that last week of May. We arrived a day ahead and were able to visit Sagrada Familia and an off the beaten track tapas bar - Renoi, which was quite enjoyable. We were distracted by trying to retrieve my IPhone which I lost at the airport on arrival, so missed Las Ramblas & I'm sure many other things. I did get my phone back with over-and-above service by concierge at Hotel Arts, though.
