It was a rainy & cold day. We didn't see much, but had a nice sandwich & glass of wine where locals eat. Hopefully we will be going back this year & will have better weather.

Save on shore excursions here and hire a car yourself, hire car for the day was less than €90 all inclusive. We easily made it to the war cemetery in Beyaux and D-day Landing beaches and back with time to spare! This hire company were fantastic too with pick up and drop off at the port! https://mobile.ada.fr/location-voiture-cherbourg.html Port was quite nice, about a 15 min steady walk to the local town which has lots of nice little shops and eateries, the local tourist information office were fantastically helpful too!

This port provided tours to Normandy, but we used it as a shopping stop. There are many shops and markets. The fruit stands and the meat markets were interesting and they serve the best sausages ever eaten on French Bread.
