Mont-Saint-Michel was amazing and tour guide was great. He shared history of the abbey and French art every step to the top. He also shared the culture on the ride through the countryside.

The port is good - there's a museum and things to see right where the ship docks. We didn't do an excursion, but found we really didn't need to.

Took a tour of Utah Beach and visited a museum. All famous from D Day in WWII. It is with great awe that I stood on that beach thinking what happened there on June 6, 1944, nearly 75 years ago.

Cherbourg is very good for shopping as it has a big shopping centre, also you have land trains or horse drawn carts to take you round Cherbourg.

We walked to the statue of Napoleon and passed the city hall. We saw a memorial plaque to the soldier/officer who liberated the city, weeks after D-Day. We walked around the special garden and then had a lovely lunch along the quai.

The excursion we wanted was full, therefore we just walked around the town. It was a lovely town.
