About Boulogne-Sur-Mer, France

Apart from being France's leading fishing port, Boulogne sur Mer is an historical centre and famous for the arts. The high town of Boulogne contrasts amazingly with the port and is one of the most beautiful citadels in France. The ramparts appear to protect the Belfry, the Chateau-Museum, the Notre-Dame Cathedral and the Convent of the Annonciades from the ravages of time.

Visiting the castle and walking the ramparts. The castle art museum was surprising and good. The collection was comprised of donations from wealthy 19th century French collectors, so spanned many areas. The best fish restaurant in town was not open as it was Monday. Anyone who's seen "The Invisible Woman": the death certificate for the still-born baby was from this town.
