We had been here before and still there are places that we would like to visit. We took the HOHO to get around.

It was grand. Nice things to do but it was very busy.

We spent the first of our two days in the Old City. We took the shuttle and a city map to explore on our own. It was easy to get around. The main visitor draw was The Royal Palace. We opted to walk around - duck into the German Church, peek into shops and have lunch at an outdoor restaurant.

Take the shuttle boat from the dock into town. You'll get a good look at Stockholm from the water. Lots of nice places to have lunch - like Flyt. Get an excellent (free) map at the Church of Stockholm (Storkyrkan) near the Palace.

Great city. Was not explained that you can catch a water taxi just outside the boat that will not only take you to the almost center of city but you can do a get on get off. I think the Excursion Dept wants you to use their expensive tours and do not make any info available that would encourage you to visit on your own.

Toured on our own as no one shore excursion went to the places we wanted to visit. Easy city to tour on own. Buy the Stockholm Card as it does save money on musueums and transit,
