Stavanger was a very cool town. We decided on the Rodne Forge cruise that took us into the Lysefjords. We got to see beautiful waterfalls and Pulpits rock from water level. This was a great experience. Walked around the town after this and took in the sites and did a little shopping.

Highlights included the lake with ducks and swans, walking round the shops, cathedral and my tour to the iron age farm. Amazing day!

Well, we had a professional tour guide who knew here business, finally. She gave us a running commentary on the history, culture and overall background of the area which was informative and professional. The monastery tour was very good, as was the orientation to the city center.

This was a much bigger built up port and only a couple of minutes walk into the town. Once you got exploring there were cobbled streets and plenty of shops, restaurants etc. Nice to walk around, find somewhere to sit, relax and watch the world go by.

We did not go on an organized tour in Stavanger. We did get off the ship and walk around the town. The Tour de Norway was happening the day we were in port. We watched it from the ship's deck! It was an unexpected treat.
