We took the shore excursion that combined a Canal Boat tour with a visit to Tivoli Gardens. They took us to Tivoli Gardens first and we only had an hour (not enough time). Canal boat tour was disappointing -- could not see as much as you would on a walking tour of the city.

Fly in 2 days before the cruise leaves to explore this beautiful city. The Nyhavn area is the best to stay, close to everything. Take the canal boat tours - it was awesome! Great hotel was the Christian IV Hotel. Great breakfast included and within walking distance to Rosenberg Castle, a huge city park and also Nyvahn area with lots of restaurants.

Charming European capital. Danes are very friendly. Clean and several waterways. You can walk to most of the major sites. Palaces and museums as per most European cities. Not Paris, London, Vienna or Budapest, but a nice place to visit.
