There's more than 1 place where the ship can dock. If you're lucky enough to dock 'downtown' you're a 10-15 minute walk away from the little mermaid and the major sights of the city. We docked at one of the new cruise terminals built further out of the city which takes approx 90 minutes to walk (and I walk at a fair pace, so I wasn't being slow!). I don't agree with Celebrity charging for shuttle buses if you're so far out of Copenhagen, particularly for those who are less mobile and not able to walk for long distances or periods of time. Apart from that the city is beautiful but VERY expensive for food and drink.

We did take a city tour excursion which unfortunately was not very good so it made our experience less than great. However we shared our issues with Guest Services upon our return and they were very responsive to our comments and did give us credit back from what we paid.

- Cruise port long ways from town. Public buses work but 9:30 bus start schedule lead to long lines are stop. Go to hotel to right and get on bus for hassle free journey. - Copenhagen has multiple free tours and they were great. Go on them and see the city.

Copenhagen is a lovely city--we arrived 2 days before the cruise. We arranged for a private canal tour and a segway tour both of which were very nice. Did lots of walking--Tivoli Gardens is a must see for first time visitors--but a bit disappointing.
