The town is spectacular. We were only let down by a vendor called Sight Seeing Belfast. It was a hop on hop off buss but the stops were on side streets and there was no way to tell where the bus would stop. Not a good experience.

May 8. Docked in Belfast. We took an excursion into County Down. This is area where my Grandpa was born in Drumnascamph Township. I talked with one of the speakers at the St Patrick Center afterwards and he brought up the Irish Census from 1911 and found my Great Grandpa, his wife and 4 children at the time including my Grandpa. It was the coolest thing. For some reason, just felt at home. The excursion was the trail of St Patrick. Tour guide was wonderful. We saw a lot, had lunch in Strangford, took a ferry across the lake on the Charter bus! Really good day.

Plan extra time here. Great town with lots to do. We hired a driver to take us from the ship to the hotel in Belfast via a 6 hour tour of the Northern Coast of Ireland. Worth every penny. We went to the Giant's Causeway, which is one of the most spectacular sites in the world. It should not be missed. The scenery and stops we made along the way were outstanding.
