We arrived a day early and stayed at the Plaka. Pros: walking distance to everything , great rooftop restaurants Cons : Weekends… loud music and parties until 3am .. so if you need to rest after your flight .. (1)eye mask , ear plugs 😴 (2) different location 🫣 (3) party with the rest of them 😀 Easy trip to the port .. the hotel got us a driver who was so good , we hired him to pick us up and take us around before going to the airport . Send me a message if you want his name and number … First Class treatment and speaks English well ( unlike our cab from the airport , no English and got lost )

Use RICK STEVE EUROPE App to tour Athens on your own. It is like having a private tour guide with even podcasts for more information! Our cruise was changed because of the war in Israel but overall it was a good time.

Athens not what I expected however the Parthenon, Acropolis and the views from there are worth the trip.

It was great to see the Acropolis but Athens is just a graffiti ridden city. Not my favorite. Acropolis was very cool but so many people made it more a chore than an excursion

Took the ship tour of Acropolis and scenic coast. A nice mix of the city and outside the town along the coast. Had a great lunch in the hills.

Nothing in Piraeus. We took a taxi (€18 euro each way & 25 mins) to Syntagma Square. We did our own walking tours (two of them) using Rick Steves Audio Europe App. The first tour was of Plaka & the second was of the Acropolis.
