Get informed on Internet. Be very careful when ordering a Taxi. Give order to use the Taximeter. In most cases they will try to cheat you.

The city is one of the cradles of civilization. Acropolis was impressive. Unfortunatelly due to traffic and the tour operators committed to dropping us at the hotel before 1, we didn't stop at the Panathenaic stadium which is worthwhile. We stayed another day and saw the National Archeological museum and the Panathenaic stadium as well as other nice ruins (Zeus temple, "Modern" athena temple.

Acropolis was hard to get to and tickets were all sold out by the time we got there. The Parthenon is a total rip and they charged us a lot to see 5 or 6 old columns. Stick with Rome!
