Florence was stunning, we had never been. The train ride wasn't much fun to get there, but I booked that as an excursion on the ship just to be sure the ship would wait if there were any issues. However, I think the ship excursion should have allowed one more hour in Florence. 4.5 hours was a bit short. I prearranged a local guide to get us around and off the beaten path so we could maximize our time there.

One of our favorite places in Italy. Excursion to Florence was great and the visit t the Tuscan castle interesting and informative. Having a 10 hour excursion on the last day was a bit much. Wish the last day was a sea day to relax after such a active cruise.

We chose the optional “Florence on your own” excursion. Informative Guide accompanied us on bus trip to/from Florence and gave a brief walking tour and worthwhile sightseeing and shopping suggestions.

Nice port, but didn't see much of it as we did an all day excursion to Pisa and Florence.

We took a fantastic tour to Florence with Laura - the very best guide ever! The entire day was fun, informative and full of laughs. This is an excellent overview of Florence if you’ve never been. We purchased the tour through the Ship’s Excursions and loved it. Highly recommend!

My daughter and I took a Florence and Tuscany castle and wine tasting tour. Large bus but well organized tour. We paid extra to tour the Galleria Academia to skip the line and see Michaelangelo's David. So worth the extra money. Our tour guide was a native to Florence and gave a fascinating tour. Sadly i left my big camera in the ladies bathroom, left and realized it before leaving the museum a minute later to have someone take it that quickly!! So it's true...be careful! We missed the rest of sites in Florence because we wasted time speaking to everyone in museum about lost camera. Luckily the wine tasting eased my pain!

Too much to do in very little time. Florence is huge, so save Pisa for another time if you haven't seen it before. Also, I highly advise taking a Florence on your own tour to just deal with the costs associated with getting there from the Livorno port-- you not only get a ride there worry free, but you also get some great tips and information from a tour guide before arriving to help plan your travels around the city.

Went to the Leaning Tower of Pisa on our own. A 25-minute train ride from Livorno was only 2.60euro each way. The tower was amazing to see! Watch for pick pockets everywhere in Italy!

Again a long way to either place of interest but a similar deal to the on we had in Rome meant we had a good day.
