Did Florence on our own. Everything we wanted to see was within long walking distance. Suggest a taxi to Ponte Vecchio then walking back toward the transport meeting spot. That way you only have to walk it once instead of round trip.

Went to a leather shop on the excursion. I am sure the ship gets a kick back from these retail stops. On to an electric cart ride. The tour was 8.5 hours and titled Electric Cart and the cart was only 45 minutes out of that time slot. We drove for 3 hours total and the scenery was not impressive. The next day we went on a pasta tour and was suppose to see a pasta factory but it was closed on the day of the tour. The rest of the tour was visiting a farm for lunch. It was fairly good food and the nicest part of the nearly 9 hours.

Surely if walking off the port is prohibited, those that prohibit it should supply free transport not force us to pay. Long walk or pay to get off.

Loved Florence and Pisa! Make sure you do an excursion in each city! The leather market in Florence is a must visit if you like real Italian leather. Bring Euros to get some great bargains!

The first day, all tours into the Cinque Terre area were canceled due to the weather, so we had to shift and do a tour to Lucca and Pisa. Lucca was fairly interesting, but I wouldn't make a special trip to go there. There's not much to see in Pisa and we definitely would not go back. The next day, we took a tour to Florence. Florence is great, BUT it's insanely crowded and on a tour like this, you spend your time trying to follow the tour guide through the throngs of people. It would have been nice to spend more time there, but you are on the bus for 4 hours out of your day, so...

Loved the beauty of everything. We chose a personal driver and he was great. Fortunately my wife speaks Italian and she was able to translate everything. The drivers name was Fabrizio - I would recomment him to everyone
