Love Florence! We. Again got a trip with cruise excursions. My wife was keen to visit the shoe museum but unfortunately it w as closed until the end of May. Something for future visitors to note. Had a calzone and bottle of chianti at the Finistrae Restaurant in the Plaza Santa Crosco.

Excursion: Pisa on your own Took coach to Pisa. They have built new coach parking facilities which makes Pisa about 15 minutes walk away, something to fear in mind if you have trouble walking. Pisa itself was amazing. Wouldn’t have missed it for the world. Our guide walked slowly and was very knowledgable about the site. Would have liked more time at Pisa. 4 hour trip time on this excursion was not enough.

My favorite stop. I loved Florence! This was a great first experience in Italy. Don't be afraid to take the train into Florence yourself. It's very simple.

Florence was very interesting, our 2nd favorite spot but could have used 12 vs 5 hrs there. Luckily we pre reserved Ufidzi gallery tickets, but would have liked Duomo & Academie as well however no time for all 3.

Do not miss Florence for the art; Pisa for you-know-what. We visited Pisa first, early in the day, and beat most of the crowds, but were also too early to go up in the tower.

We did Pisa and Florence. It was too much to do in the short time period we had. I feel that we didn't really have enough time to explore Florence. If I had to do it again, I would only do Florence.
