once you get used to the dirt-or ignore it-you can ventere out ot the city and make your own tour. Cairo is an experince if you have not seen it however, it's a long day since you are at least 5 hrs. on the bus. Too much time in shops, would be better spend in the Museum.

We walked into town and got lost because we didn't have an address for the ship. No one knew the ship by name or where the Port Authority was.

Other than seeing the pyramids and the Sphinx, it was atrocious. Many of us were robbed, there were dead animals in the canal in the center of the city, and we were caught in a horrible sand storm. Miss it, if you have to miss one port!

LOOOOONNNNG Trip to get to Cairo! Yes, the pyramids are something to see, but the city is dirty and third world-ish.

We went on the Best of Cairo overnight excursion and it was very interesting except that the River Cruise on the Nile was a complete waste of time since the food was awful, the service even worse and we weren't able to go outside to take pictures of the Nile. This entire experience was a complete fiasco.

The pyramids were amazing. The vendors are very pushy and follow you around trying to sell you stuff.
