Went on the ancient history tour. A bit too much information from the guide, most of which we didn’t really need too know. She was so busy talking we didn’t really get to see anything. The museum was good, lots of artefacts from digs.

Unfortunatey it was way to hot to really enjoy what seemed to be a nice, smaller town than Dubrovnik.

This was a pleasant surprise. A friend of mine had said how much she enjoyed Split, and I can see why. It has this great promenade in the middle of this little town. We didn't sigh up for an excursion, so we opted for a hour "city tour" by someone who was offer little motorized taxi tours. He took us to a couple of overlooks to see the beaches and this great spot that overlooks Split and had a gorgeous view. Think we paid 30 Euros per person. There's also the old castle/fortress in the middle of the city, so it was great to walk through. Our taxi driver advised us of this restaurant right off the promenade for lunch, and we took him up on it and it was DELISH. Inexpensive local wines of Croatia and an excellent meal. Very inexpensive. Great time. It was raining when we first got there, but cleared up before we left.

Sadly, Croatia was the most disappointing of all the places. We took a tour og Diocletian's castle and it wasn't all that amazing. There doesn't seem to be too many historical sites there. But someone hiked somewhere near a waterfall, which was past Split and they said it was phenomenal.

Very nice. We didn’t actually go in the tour we had booked the waterfall park we decided no one wanted to be on a bus for three hours. So we got an Uber and took it to the castle associated with GOT. Very nice. Very hot and not for the faint of heart 😊 lots of rough steep terrain I stopped midway. And my son climbed the rest. Then we ate in a local restaurant and I found a haven for cats on my walk. So many kittens 😊 so we petted them all and made a donation

Yes and the it was terrible they had no idea how to do a tour, nor were they prepare. There was at least 35 of us and they were going to yell information to us rather than hand out headsets until we yelled back that we all needed them

Diocletian's palace was nice, but it was rainy and we were not having any fun the first 3 hours til it cleared. Knowing what I know now, I would have waited on the boat for better weather, because it does not take much time to see most of Diocletian's palance. It was not as majestic as I was hoping for wet, cold feet. When it cleared a little we walked up the hills to a public park that had great views of the harbor, and we happened to be there on race day- so it was really cool to see the sailboats exit the harbor, line up, then hear the crack of the start gun. Don't bother with the chocolate shop (I was so excited), The beer in the town was good, but I liked the walnut liquer, which is the local specialty.
