Extremely busy and touristy but definitely worth visiting. Try finding a local restaurant and enjoy the views.

When you reach the Island, take the boat ride to Oia with a return bus trip across the island back to Firia. All of this is included for only $15 Euro.

Worst port ever.. those poor donkeys. Cable cars were a joke with hours of waiting each way. No other way to get from port unless you rode a poor donkey or tracked 600 plus steep stairs, in the sun in donkey excrement. The smell alone is unbearable. That there is no other path up or down is ridiculous in a port making $12 euros a head for a chairlift. There is also no policing, helping or guidance to the massive lines. Pick pockets everywhere and people yelling at others cutting in line. Then out of nowhere 10-15 donkeys crash through the crowd waiting for the lift. Will never get off the ship again here and would definitely not recommend to anyone…

Once is enough. Too many ships , people and tenders. Not enough people to ask questions and not enough signage to direct foot traffic, most notably to cable car ticket office. Lots of frustrated visitors worn out from walking up and down steep hills and then spending 60-90 minutes in the cable car line / twice. No roundtrip tickets. Very frustrating experience, Scenery bumped up rating to a 2.

Get on deck and watch as your ship sails into Santorini-amazing views! Our ship Jewel of the Seas came in later in the day 1 pm and had to tender. We did not have an excursion with Royal Caribbean so did not get off until almost 3 pm. Took the high speed ferry to Oia. The ferry tickets can be purchased right where the tender drops you off . Word of warning-the ferry drops you off at a small dock and the walk up the hill to the shuttle to Oia could be a challenge for anyone with mobility issues or the elderly. You are dropped off at a bus/ shuttle area next to the cute town of Oia. Beautiful and amazing-crowded yes! The ferry company provides a bus transfer back to Fira where the cable cars are located. Drive was full of wonderful views. Again the bus dropped you off and there was a good amount of walking into the main part of town. Lots of restaurants and shops. Was looking for a specific restaurant past the cable car entrance and up the hill- found the most charming restaurant Irini’s right in the cliff overlooking the caldera and the cruise ships. Had a fabulous lunch. Got in line for the cable cars line pretty long. Once down sat at the little cafe and enjoyed some wine before getting on the tender. Very busy port streets can be confusing-a little patience is needed. The views make it all worth it!

The view into the port is absolutely breathtaking. We did not do an organized excursion and simply took the Sky cab up to the top where we wandered around through various shops for about an hour. Then we sat down on a patio overlooking the port and drank a Coca Cola. It was very relaxing and a fantastic view.

I loved my day in Santorini! We didn't book a shore excursion on board, but we didn't really need to because we still had a wonderful time. Once we arrived by tender in Fira Port, we booked a speedboat trip to the beautiful little town of Oia. The coach took us up to the centre of Oia, where we spent hours exploring the little streets. The views of the sea were simply magical, an unforgettable experience. Our coach took us back to Fira, where we rode donkeys back down to the port. At first, the donkey ride is a little daunting, but it is worth it! We were lucky enough to watch the sunset from the top deck of our tender, it was so magical! Overall, our visit to Santorini was amazing!

Visit Akrotiri if you like ancient history. The fully under cover archaeological excavations are from an advanced Minoan Bronze Age settlement buried under volcanic ash over 3,500 years ago.

Santorini was the only port where we were tendered to shore. Not a bad experience at all. The weather was pretty bad that day - not the cruise line's fault, of course - but not the sunny Santorini I had hoped to see. We stopped at a winery for samples and shopping and then went up to Oia. Beautiful town and I can imagine quite crowded in tourist season. Would like to go back and spend more time on my own here.
